I personally have no idea what this “stutter” you are referring is. It also doesn’t sound like anything to do with the manual transmission, but it’s really not clear what you are describing. We need much more information.

I think it was pretty specifically described. It also has been discussed on TW many many times over the years.

Whatever you say. The word stutter is not technical term normally used to describe any issue with a manual transmission. Shudder has been used to refer to material problems with the clutch disk, but the OP does not seem to be referring to a clutch issue.

Shudder to me implies some sort of miss. I haven’t seen that with mine. But it is very easily bogged at low engine speed in certain conditions, and again there’s something milder than a miss (stumble, shudder, whatever you want to call it) when the ACIS flips at around 3500 rpm, again in certain conditions. For me, it’s all worse at high ambient temps >95F

Yes I have heard the word “stutter” to refer to a misfiring engine, however, unless I missed something, the OP never mentioned an issue with the engine but instead called out the transmission. If should be obvious whether the issue is with the engine or transmission.

I would not call the dip in the torque curve at 3500 rpm’ish a shudder, stutter, or misfire. I have heard it can be smoothed out with a tune though.

Stutter, shudder, fart, WHATEVER! Driving me nuts. Yinz don’t understand. To get to higher rpm I still gotta go thru that range. It’s like the old Ford big block with cracked distributor cap. NO CEL! Again. 2600 RPM 6th gear 73 MPH stutter! Not lug. Going to dealer again. Doubt if they will attempt fix.they Didn’t do anything last trip. Gave me a big line of BS. Anyone with this issue, complain to dealer or corporate.

No money, all went to truck...
    I had 2nd gen 6sp and now a 3rd gen 6sp.

Can't lug this engine nor can you be gentle with accelerator. I no longer have stutters or bucking as long as I am not hesitate to give give it a lot of gas. Don't be afraid to mash the accelerator. It'll drive 100x better.

Actually went to dealer today. Service manager and head mechanic went along for a ride. Stutter shutter felt and acknowledged by both. NO ANSWERS!
Mechanic says start with driveshaft.. can driveshaft be RPM dependent?? Maybe mph but RPM thru all gears? I dunno. Just opened a new claim with corporate. Guess I gotta wait for them. Wonder if they wanna buy a truck?

I did not experience any stutters yet, because probraly I got my 2023 6MT Tacoma the OTT Spicy tune, around two months ago. Running non-ethanol gas, never tried premium gas. But I’m heavy foot, almost drive like “Fast and The Furious.”:D

Everybody says mash the pedal. Or have a heavier foot. Even if I screamed it and shifted at 4 grand and no 6th gear til 80 MPH I still have to climb thru that 1500 to 2600 range. I’m an OLD gearhead drove 340 4 speed ‘70s Mopars in the good old days so I know about running the tach up.

How many miles in Tacoma? Start with basics, check for loose connections. Fuel pressure?
