congrats! Another new year one, our girl was January 6th 2020. She was a couple weeks before due date which is pretty common for 1st babies apparently. Or maybe it’s over due date that’s common

Man ever since River started crawling, Dex has been acting weird towards him and even a little aggressive at times. If River gets anywhere near the kitchen Dex goes into full protective mode over his food and the bin where we keep it.
Doing a little research on it and I guess it’s somewhat common with dogs, when a baby becomes mobile they see it as a puppy and think they need to establish a pecking order which definitely feels like what’s happening here. He even nipped at him once but luckily no harm. Definitely doing what I can with Dex to let him know that’s not ok, but instinct is instinct and we’re gonna have to keep an extra eye on them until River grows out of this phase.

Sofia was already 3 when we got him so we didn’t experience this with him and her

It's probably gonna just be snoot boops anyway, dogs don't even really bite puppies when correcting.

 

River pulled himself up into a standing position using Dex's food storage bin in the kitchen and Dex literally walked over and head butted him onto the ground, to be honest I had a hard time not laughing because it was pretty funny but at the same time he needs to fuckin chill lol.

 

Then Sofia gets mad when I use a stern voice with Dex when he does it, she leads him away to her room and tells him it's OK, he's a good dog, daddy's being mean etc etc.

 

I've heard of an absentee father, but father erasure is a new one haha.
