Well here it is! 2023 Kawasaki klx300r! Left over model that a dealer forgot about in a off-site storage location so I got it for 5400 otd with some swag junk stuff lol. I wanted it for less and after talking to the owner this is the best they would do so said meh decent enough.

thanks! tbh not with this bike! the klx is great at being a little tractor from what ive seen so putting heavy sm tires i feel would kill its performance just from the little bit i rode it around the dealer and my block. main goal is just a little enduro bike to ride on trails with friends and the gf once she gets a dirtbike.

yup anything is possible here lol. if you want a 2 stroke legal you can lol.

i do plan to add the tusk dualsport kit to the bike eventually. but atm nah since if i dont register it then i dont gotta pay stuff for it atm lol

also before those ask why not buy the dual sport model if you are going to add the kit? well thats simple actually! the r model has better suspension then the dual sport model... now im sure the dual sport is fine but since im wanting more offroad then i want the better option for offroad out of the three choices. longer travel softer shocks and also lighter.

I want one of those so bad but it's not in my budget at this time. I may end up with a China bike, better than nothing. I just want a bike to trail ride with. I have my beloved bonneville for the street so just want an inexpensive dirt bike for occasional use. Remember I'm 64 and don't need a top of the line dirt bike but I do enjoy riding in the dirt. A year ago 5 grand would have been doable, but not in today's economy.

Looks like a small data logger for lap times, acceleration data, etc. Could be a useful tool at the track to help determine where you want to work on improvements.

I'm with ya there. I always thought a true dirt bike legalized would be great for woods riding. The only way we can do it is if we buy one already converted from out of state.

I would argue the ktm/husky 350's are basically already that. You need to be careful because a true dirt bike legalized might limit you. The true dirtbike 4 strokes that people run at mx tracks will overheat fast in the woods and have suspension that is too stiff. Now the te300's and the other 2 strokes can absolutely hold their own on local streets and be a weapon in the woods but you need to go the dirt legal route. And even then most guys don't like running them faster than 60 mph and are severely limited on fuel/distance. Most can only go 50-60 miles. My fe350 on stock gearing could hit 80-85 in spurts (didn't like holding it there) and the suspension has plenty of travel/can be adjusted to the riders liking. Not to mention the range is in the 90-100 mile area.
