Picked up some OEM spark plugs from the dealer. Does anyone actually check the spark plug gaps or can I just install them? On my last car, I used a little gauge disc to check the gap before installing.

Doesnt hurt and the tool is dirt cheap.

1 out of 100 I have to make amends to the gap.

I usually check them. I also have the “disk” tool.
I don’t go over board setting them all at the exact same gap.
Also long as they are all within .005 of each other, I call it good.
I don’t like risking breaking a an electrode to be “perfect”.

The newer iridium plugs rarely come out of spec. Still good practice to check them.

Older copper plugs definitely want to check/adjust.

You'll change your tune when you do a tuneup and one of the plugs is just out the gap enough to randomly misfire even though it looks good, and of course you put that plug in the hardest to reach cylinder.

Been changing plugs for over 20 years have yet to see them out of spec … it’s not a race car doesn’t need to be dialed in . Can it happen maybe … odds are very low. If it makes u feel better why not .

    Absolutely check.

I guess when I changed my spark plugs out a month or so ago I forgot to check them since I thought I read on here there was no need to because of the style plug they are but I guess I should have, that and also when I watched the team oil drop video they never mentioned it. Well I’m sure it’s fine since I have been driving around for a little while with no issues from what I can tell.

I'd pull your distributor cap and check the points at the same time. Just hook up that tach/dwell meter and....

Oh wait. Wrong decade. Heck, probably wrong century. Can't keep up.
