Headlights will not go off, even after turning the switch to OFF, and shutting off the engine, and closing the door.

There are faint humming sounds coming from the bulb areas inside the engine compartment.

Each side does shut off when we remove their respective fuses.

    Thanks.

Does your truck have DRL or not?

The headlight system is very different between DRL and non DRL equipped trucks.

I'm pretty sure we do NOT have Daytime Running Lights.

I have no idea what’s going on with your truck but the below device might be worth buying while you figure it out so you don’t drain your battery every day

See which fuses and relays are populated.

If you only have a HEAD Relay and HEAD (LH) & HEAD (RH) fuses you don't have DRL.

If you have a DIMMER Relay, HEAD Relay, DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT RELAY No 4 and HEAD (LO LH), HEAD (HI LH), HEAD (LO RH), & HEAD (HI RH) fuses you do have DRL.

It would help if you make a quick list of the aftermarket items on the truck. Especially lights.

I have confirmed that we do not have DRL.
Any suggestions of how to fix this problem?

    none yet
a sticking relay could do this
you could try smacking the headlight relays to see if the headlight turn off or you could just replace them (not an expensive item)

Have you swapped the HEAD Relay with a known good relay?
If so see if the relay clicks when you unplug it and plug it win with the key off.

    In the underhood fuse/relay box.
