it really depends on the cat, we have two and only one does all the peeing and stuff. He was a feral rescue and is always on edge and afraid.
Harley, our other one is very affectionate and social almost like a dog. Always greeting people even strangers and wanting attention

I want to make a trip back to NYC in September (12-22) to take my daughter to the Feast of San Gennaro.

It would be fun to drive up, so I would be mobile. However, I would stay in Jersey and take the PATH train into the city.

After years of it sitting in my yard and multiple attempts to sell it, I finally put the fiberglass tonneau that came on my truck out on the curb with a "Free" sign.

Some dude picked it up and immediately listed it for $150. Good luck, sir.

I feel like they are under appreciate. I have one on both trucks. I hate how shells limit visibility.

    @Tour991

So it's been way longer than I thought that I haven't met up with Xiong.

Apparently, we were still waiting for our house to be built the last time I met up with him and that was to grab the fender for @eon_blue

Before the fender, I had bought non-wood trim pieces from him for the 4Runner interior.

I've tried almost every bed setup available and haven't found anything I'm totally happy with.

Hard tonneau was nice for security but made it impossible to carry anything tall.

Soft tonneau was nice for flexibility but didn't provide any security beyond keeping things hidden.

Cross-bed toolbox was good for security small things but sacrificed bed length and left no way to keep larger things covered.

Currently have a fiberglass shell on and I like that it keeps larger things covered and secure, and gives potential for truck camping (even though I haven't done it yet), but accessing the front of the bed is a pain and I'm paranoid about cracking either the shell or my bed driving down rough roads (I have stiffeners on the shelf but am not excited to drill into my bed). I also agree, I miss the visibility of an open bed or tonneau.

I'm still dreaming of an aluminum contractor shell (ARE DCU or similar) with side doors but they're nearly impossible to find for a 1st gen standard cab, and even a Ranger shell (not an exact fit but close enough) in the configuration I want (normal tailgate with glass) has been elusive.

There’s a local az 1st gen guy with a high rise contractor shell like that, dream setup. The high rise let him build a bed platform for storage underneath and still be able to sit up straight when in the bed. Has the side doors and regular tailgate too.

The local ARE dealer is worthless. This is why I will never own another fiberglass truck accessory. They purposely make it hard to get parts and then mark up the parts to discourage repairing and not buying new.

I just want the tonneau cover on the ford to stop flipping open under high winds. The locking rods are missing so nothing holds it shut.

edit: I see people discussing fiberglass truck accessories lol. I’m just ranting from getting the run around with the local ARE dealer this week.

I agree they can be a pain in the ass for moving stuff. I have the ARE on the 2nd gen right now, we are going camping in 2 weeks. It's nice having the 4runner now so I don't drive the truck as much.

Looks like he actually picked up a Flippac this week, you can check out his contractor shell build though. He might be selling it (or maybe did already idk) though it has no glass.

He seems like a pretty straight up guy. Glad he wasn't shady at all. I think in September we are going to do a socal trip. Maybe we can hit your place on the way home. Theo and Olivia can talk about what they have been up to.

Yeah had I seen the ad, I would've vouched for him right away. Super trustworthy.

He's on TW too but isn't as active as he is on FB.

I know that build. The topper is almost exactly what I want. My ideal topper would have front/rear glass and might be a little shorter. I think his would be too tall to fit in my garage.

If they’re that hard to find cutting in a couple windows front and rear might be an option, if the heights doable.
The windows would look like shit if I did them but you might be able to keep it clean

1st Gen, believe it's supercharged last I saw it but that was again some 3+ years ago.

    Was on 35's too.

For sure, the windows aren't a dealbreaker. The aluminum skeleton usually includes the "frame" for the window so it should just be a matter of cutting the skin. Very doable, as long as one can find the right window.

Maybe I should just build a taller garage?
