Today there was a very low flying helicopter making circular passes all around my area today. It waa so low it damn near sounded like it was going to land on my garage roof, l even waved to the pilot but he just looked down at me through the open door.

I had some co-workers rescued by a helicopter this past winter, one thing you never think about is the potential for frost bite.

3 of them got severe frost bite simply because of the windchill caused by the rescue copter.

I love helicopters and have only been in 2, both in hawaii. Simply the coolest way to move.

I am still prone to coughing fits, and I still can’t hear too good, but after almost a day of antibiotics and cough suppressants, there is an obvious improvement; Amanda is back at work! I just dropped her off for her 11am shift and I am sitting in the truck relaxing because my shift doesn’t start until noon (the earliest I can clock in is 11:57am); I barely even scratched the surface last night with regards to posting Carlisle photos because I was damn tired!

The worst sunburn I ever had was due to an antibiotic.
I forget what it was, but in less 2 hours I was BURNT.
And that’s unusual for me. I work outside, so I can go a good while before I get burn.
I tend to build up a slow “tan” in the spring, and by summer I am pretty good to go for 6-8 full sun.

I always ask the Dr. if what ever they prescribed says to keep out of the sun.
If it does, I ask for something else.

That’s what I get for never reading the warning labels on medication.

On another note, Amanda’s housemate’s dog had a feathery snack the other day…

The landlady keeps and breeds canaries and finches, and she decided to separate one of the recent births from the flock so she could hand feed it, make it more domesticated, and ultimately sell it as a companion bird.

Bella, the 10-year old Pit Bull owned by one of the other guys who rents a room in the house, had other plans…

The bird was being kept in a small cage on a table in the “bird room”. Bella and the landlady’s dog, Tiki, are always fed separate to prevent food aggression; Bella always ate in the bird room.

Bella apparently jumped up on the table, managed to get into the cage, and ate the bird. I am not entirely sure if the bird was partially eaten and/or just mortally wounded, or if Bella gulped it down in one bite. Either way, the bird is no more, the landlady is pissed, and Bella is no longer allowed to eat in the bird room.

Bella has never shown any aggression and is a very friendly dog, and as the owner of a dog who plays with chickens and ducks like they are other dogs, I am honestly shocked.

Amanda’s landlady owns a roughly 1,600 square foot split-level house with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths; Amanda sleeps on the top floor, which is really more of a rec room with closets, the guy who owns the dog gets the master bedroom, and the other two guys get the other two bedrooms. The dog owner has his own bedroom, while Amanda shares the hall bath with the two other guys. The landlady’s bathroom does not have a shower, so she uses the hall bath for that. The original 1-car garage was converted into a finished basement and a new 1-car garage was built prior to the landlady buying the house in about 1988. The landlady sleeps in the basement.

So we got 5 people, dogs, cats, and birds living in the same house?
And no one seen something like this coming? o_O

Strike 1 - Dog on kitchen table.
Strike 2 - Food aggressive dog
Strike 3 - Ate my bird.

It not all the dogs fault, the people in the house are just as much to blame.
I can tell you this, if something like that happens again. You get what you had coming to you.

Not the kitchen table but the table in the bird room; I see your point though…

Remember how my original HVAC module shorted out last year? Well, something failed on the $150 one I got online out of a totaled 2007 Taco, and it only works on the lowest fan setting; I spent an extra $60 to make sure the replacement gets here by Friday! This one is supposedly out of a 2009-2011, so the temperature shouldn’t be reversed…

$60, and that's to make sure it gets here on Friday instead of next week; I am willing to pay out the ass to have working A/C!

It's weird. There's something wrong with the internals; I got it briefly to work on high, but then it started acting up again. Something is loose inside the module assembly...

Im surprised that I remember that something was reversed on that replacement, lol. That will be nice if this one goes back to how it was originally.
