You could get a 3-point rototiller for your tractor with the difference

Always be prepared! How many of those funky wrenches with the offset for working on ignition components do you have?

Have you done the cap, rotor, condensor, points, plugs and wires? There’s got to be some reason those cylinders aren’t firing.

I think I'm back to cremation, I want part of my ashes put in an hour glass so I can still participate with family games and the rest flushed so I can hang out in the back yard near the deck.

 

I set the timing in my old car with a vacuum gauge the last time I did it. Worked pretty good

 

I use to use a mercury stick to sync carbs. on my motorcycle.

 

I'd start with the ignition system and go from there. Cap, Rotor, etc... but I have a feeling that you already have an idea what's wrong.

 

I do have one (or two) of those distributor wrenches kicking around somewhere.
Used them more on the Chevs & small block Chryslers with the distributor on the back of the engine.

 

This illustration from the service manual might shed some light.

The idle circuit on one side of the carburetor isn't feeding any fuel, the main circuit is working as the engine runs fine (quite well actually) at any speed off an idle.
