All true. But when it's priced for literally perfection, it better be perfect. You're paying michelin star price for an Olive Garden meal. Yeah it comes with endless breadsticks, but the cheap carbs only go so far. The opening salvo of PR was brilliant. Trips and toys for fanbois, but now that it's in the hands of actual humans who aren't paid per click, the mood changes. The shine doesn't last longer than 2 loan payments.

Trying not to dogpile but also just casually felt the need to list off / name drop his Tremor and $84k Defender, etc. I know he financed his Taco in his other thread, just cause you can afford all the payments doesn't equate to well off or fiscally smart. Most people with money drive paid off cars and don't list them off or finance them above rate of return. But what do I know. Regardless, 70k is still alot of money for the majority of Americans especially for a depreciating asset, but we have plenty of people signing up to finance them and $1k a month to maintain some image.

Why is that? Ever driven or owned one? The defender 110 is pretty bad ass.

I agree, not something I'd own long term and for reliability but my mom has a first edition and its solid and really nice, overkill for what she uses it for but she likes being the only mom with something unique, her Discovery II though was a big hot mess.

Oh the discovery II are a mess. These newer defenders are very nice and so far been pretty reliable.

It looks cool, but that’s about it. Come on, we all know Land Rover’s reputation…. Hahaha

I almost purchased one. I would rather have a Jeep...and I'm definitely not fanboy Jeep.

Underpowered, unreliable 3.9L, rode like shit. I purchased my 1999 Tacoma TRDOR instead.

Maybe the old ones, but these new ones are pretty solid. I have a buddy with one that has a fair amount of miles on his and "I wouldn't do that if I were you" Offroad moments.

Yeah...it was like he was doing a long term test with car and driver with NF given.

I was out in Moab a long time ago and a guy from Texas in his 80's rolled up in a G Wagon. He was pretty cool and asked to wheel with us for the day. That damn thing was impressive.

ya the new ones are pretty nice! we met some Japanese guys in Michigan back in 2022 for a tercel meet and great event yup you head that right! and these guys were beating on this brand new rover haha they love the truck! funny enough they both bought tercels and were at the meet last year in Colorado with one being towed by the rover and when the tercel broke down they took the rover out on the trails with us! some honestly awesome guys!

Note to self - Buy G-Wagon for 80th birthday. Finance it with a minimum 10 year term. Go impress some kids.

I guess my hesitancy is at the repair bills for when the warranty runs out lol I’m sure those imported parts could get pretty expensive.

Make sure the interest rate is at least a 20% the higher the better!!
