Not just their engines....They're building some of their bikes on CF Moto's assembly lines....in Chyna . Those bikes are competing (and winning races) at the highest level of two-wheeled motorsport.

The Chinese fear mongering is pretty out of touch with reality when it comes to automotive manufacturing. Technology is a different story.

 

Pretty sure they are only building the Chinese/asian market stuff there. They are not building their offroad models

Check out this crazy modded e-bike that was for sale locally. Has Z1000 fairings.. even a Brembo RCS master. Holy moly. They're everywhere here now and there's still no/little legislature around licensing/insurance. Bit of a mess given how quick they can be and how difficult it is to distinguish from an ICE bike.

 

That's just not true. It's only assembled in China (under strict KTM supervision) after having been redesigned by KTM only after they released the 890 ADV. It was redesigned to have more parity with the 890 ADV and to meet Euro5 standards.

 

Can't speak for Canada, but down here in the states they are licensed and insured just like an ICE.
