And residential copper can be thin at times. So if your coloring the copper to much, then way to much heat. Flux and heat just right and the solder should flow. Again, dry dry dry! No water in the pipe! Doing a female thread too will help with that.

Thanks for the advice guys. What’s funny is that there’s a male adapter soldered on, so in theory it’s an easy replacement, but someone before me tried to just muscle unscrew it and twisted the pipe. Hence the need to solder in new pipe.

Anyone build stuff with wood and want some free 2x4s?

located Scottsdale airpark. I bought a box truck that had built in shelves with 2x4. Took them out. Wood is in pretty good condition. A few have metal pole brackets screwed into them. Most are 6-12ft in length

    free just have to pickup

No problem. The thing that most ppl forget is to hold "backup" when wrenching or turning on plumbing. If you are trying to unscrew something, you need another wrench turning the opposite direction on the pipe so your force doesn't break off plumbing inside the wall. Newtons 3rd law, equal and opposite reaction.

So, when you do get a new hose bibb and either a male or female adapter soldered on, when you go and tighten the hose bibb you want one wrench on the hose bibb and one on the adapter. When you turn the bibb, use the other wrench with the same force to not let that twisting energy be transferred to the pipe inside the wall.

I imagine you already know this part so I apologize if I'm telling you what you already know. I get a LOT of phone calls and questions from ppl and I try to simplify it as much as possible.

So much left to do! :annoyed:Leave on vacation after work today. Still need to get work squared away for my absence. Need to get home and put the truck back together. Did cv axles last night and need to get a new tie rod I found while I was in it. Need to do a oil change tonight, clean the truck out, pack the truck. Then on the road at midnight headed up to glacier NP. :burnrubber:Have 900 ish miles to get through tomorrow.

No no, I love extra information. I did already know that but it's never a bad idea to reiterate, plus others reading here might not have known that.

Went with Michelin Defender LTX AT2's for rubber because this thing is on pavement 99% of the time but I still couldnt bring myself to get a highway tire. (Obligatory "Hurr hurr, that is a Highway tire" inserted here)

Figured I had to share the pain that was inflicted on me ...

It's a world of laughter, a world of tears. It's a world of hopes and a world of fears. There's so much that we share that it's time we're aware "It's a small world after all".
