Was able to get the front wheel off and got it all cleaned up along with the calipers and rotors. Needs front brake pads so I will order those soon. Decided to go out for a short ride. The bike actually runs pretty well. I can tell it doesn’t have the grunt of the FZ1 ( which feels faster) but that’s not why I bought it. It feels so light and turns nicely. I still need to set rider sag front and rear and do some rebound adjustments but so far it’s ok. If I had one complaint it would be buzzy in the grips. So I ordered some heavy bar end weights and will get some gel grips to see if that helps. Maybe it just needs a throttle body sync. I have the tools for that. It’s obviously not as comfy as the FZ1 but didn’t expect it be. The freaking sound it makes from 4-5k is just a crazy growl. I like it. I got home and lowered the rear sets. They are adjustable from the factory for three positions. Up , down and up and back. I have them set lower so I don’t get too cramped. I took out my ECU because I am going down to 2wheeldynoworks in the morning to have the ECU flashed. Oh the mirrors suck, all I see is my elbows. Stupid thing is they house the turn signals so I guess they will stay for now. I will have to look around and see if anyone makes mirror block off plates that are turn signals.
So things I need and want
Brake pads, braided brake lines, quick shifter , gel grips.
I did go down and transfer the title and got my license plate. Just need to get insurance and it’s all good to go.

Personally I love this brand and their style of lights. Have them for my front and rear signals on the BMW, had them on the XSR as well before I sold it. Looks like they sell them on Amazon too. They will probably hyperflash without a relay but I prefer that on a bike...more noticeable.

+1 for NRC signals. I have them on the front and rear of the Tuono.

Since we bullied you into posting them here well here is what's left of my fast and crawlers lol

All my crawlers work and have about a grand into them :anonymous:

All my high speed ones are broken from some crash or another... Also lots and lots of money into them! Hell I burnt up a mamba monster on my monster slash that was fun!

I hate to say this, but as a kid, I heard my old man say the same for Nikon, then he bought one and changed his mind, maybe Nikon was a shitload better than Argus. LOL . Then thru the years it was said about Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki, Toyota, Datsun, Seiko, Sony and Sansui. As for China, unfortunately, the blame lays at our feet. To the investor class, cheap labor is as exciting as a line of coke is to Charlie Sheen.

Manufactures are moving away from China (at least in the welding industry) but for no altruistic reasons, they are more afraid of a shooting war and losing their supplier. So now, the hot ticket is India (in motorcycle think small singles from BMW, KTM and Triumph)

Hate to throw the bible in, but "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun"

I don't oppose going for the cost savings, but India doesn't hate the US. Same for South Korea. Hell, even Taiwan is not actively trying to sabotage and end the US. Japan is an absolute ally. Happy to support them. I actively shop for made in the USA stuff, but good luck finding it, even at a premium price.

China makes cool toys. Little hit-n-miss engine I built over the winter.

Here it is running. BTW, That's a Chinese 3 wheeler band saw in the background that I have been using for 30 years now.

Rosewood lumber for the engine, cut on the 3 wheeler.

Cast iron wheels from guess where.

The copper fitting fuel tank is American parts, and I made it. So that's something.:D

Not defending China, just wanted to be part of the conversation and show off little Rosie. :p
Pretty sure most of the people there are just regular plebs like us just trying to get by.
I also have way too many RC cars, helicopters, and a few drones.

I dont have a problem with individuals, I have more of a problem with corporate America closing factories and farming it out to cheap labor countries for a small savings to us. We allow it, so there is a lot of blame to go around. I can tell you a cutting torch that cost $100 to make in the USA, cost $50 in Mexico and $10 in China. India competes on a similar cost as China, but they got a ways to go to get to the quality we expect.

My lack of opposition for cost savings was directed at the corporate level. I get that they want to make it cheaper and they make more off of it. Free market and all. I hate that they choose to do business with enemies.

I hate that they create a system where their own employees cant afford to buy the product they made. Americans are pretty damn short sighted, the compensation plans offered everywhere I ever worked were all short term. When I started 45 years ago, companies expected this year to be better than last, then eased into this quarter better than last, by the time I retired, they expected this month to be better than last and our sales guys were expected to give a week by week forecast.

Picked up cash yesterday, some forms just in case from the DMV today, a couple cheap socket sets (metric 3/8, set of torx, and a combo 1/4 and 3/8 ratchet) to build up a travel tool kit to take with me that is TSA approved, and confirmed with the guy we're still on for Sunday. I'm starting to get so excited.

That one on the bottom is how most of mine currently sit. Not throwing shade, but again, glad I'm not the only one lol.

2016 S1000XR, under 11,000 miles, $6700, nicely accessorized. Pumped. Figure if I don't like it I can still flip it here in Washington and make a small amount of money on it.

How do y'all feel about the bmw color bars and the wheel stripes? Not gonna lie, probably removing them as one of the first things I do.
