Crazy. Well I guess it's McNeil or Fiberwerx next time I need glass. Funny enough, when Harry did the glass install with the SUA on my truck he said the bedsides were a nightmare to fit. Couldn't believe it was ADV glass until he saw the badge underneath.

re: the carbon fiber fenders - just be aware that if you have any fitment issues and you want / need to alter them or body work them it is a bit different to deal with. carbon fiber is pre impregnated and laminated with epoxy resin so there are chemical incompatibility issues with typical polyester products + it is toxic as fk

to clarify - you can fix poly resin with epoxy but you can’t fix epoxy with poly it will not adhere to cured epoxy

if they fit good then go for it but in my experience the fiberwerx 2nd gen molds are ragged out ie: headlight fitment is horrible, right front fender is twisted at the front & bedsides fit like total shit at the tailgate / taillights

Thanks Jason, understand the details of CF, have decades of experience with mocking up and molding wings, props and landing gear. I like the look of it, and ADV was my first choice but recent additions to friends Tacomas and issues with fitment and really bad gel coat I am considering other makers, just viewed a Tacoma with front and rear glass from fiberwerx and it was pretty nice. However Fiberglass is more forgiving that CF.

ah cool, it’s unusual for me to run across someone else with experience with this stuff. I prefere the styling of fiberwerx too…i have it myself which is why unfortunately i have learned how toasted their 2nd gen molds are

It is, and I agree with the look, at least the glass and painted ones I have seen look really nice but a real mixed bag of fitting opinions.

having a CF hood, CF front fenders and CF bedsides I think would be amazing

You assume they are using prepreg CF. Very possible they are just using nonprepreg CF fabric that they layup just like regular fiberglass.

    Straight from their website:
" At the listed price point, we are unable to offer pre-preg/vacuum bagged parts. Because of this, you may encounter extremely small, pin point sized air pockets."

Good autoclaves that size start at like half a mil. I wouldn't believe anyone saying they do true pre-preg unless i've seen proof of them doing it and putting it in an autoclave. Also the panels would be more like 5 figure price points
