While your idea sounds absolutely astonishing, I want to use this old wheel I brought from our other house as a base/post :)

    upload_2024-8-10_8-25-20.jpg

Just had an idea, mount the wheel horizontal, put the four mailboxes on it so they spin. Turn it to get your mail, it spins when the snow plow comes by. Oh yeah.

Well, we got a little rain last night. I don’t know how accurate it is, but that rain gauge said 1.4 yesterday morning. IMG_6838.jpg

The day is off to a good start:

    First, not raining.
Mrs Green had to work so the house was quiet. ;)

Then I found this on the side of the road with a FREE sign - and it works

    KIMG4268.jpg

Next I stopped at a sale and got this sturdy portable table with a 24 x 36 top.

    KIMG4269.jpg

Check out these nice drop down handles, up for moving on the 2 casters:

    KIMG4271.jpg

And down and out of the way when parked:

    KIMG4270.jpg

Anything else I do today is a bonus. :)

Mrs Green has developed an eye for good stuff after years of being with me.
    Mrs Green >>

She scored this Dominion brand fan built in Mansfield, Ohio in the 60's.
It is startlingly heavy as it is all metal.

    KIMG4273.jpg

Also well designed for EZ service, both grills pull off without tools.

    KIMG4274.jpg

Each side of the motor has an oil port, vacuum out the cooling passages and a few drops of 20 grade non-detergent oil and it is ready to go back to work.

    KIMG4275.jpg

It is very satisfyingly smooth & quiet...

    ...and it was free! :)

    Mornin' folks :hattip:

Debbie dumped 6+ inches around here. Cistern filled up quick so Thursday night I diverted the water out into the yard as I'm pretty sure the overflow goes into the weeping tile. Power blipped at work Friday morning, but that was it. Thought my basement was all clear till I walked near the door yesterday and the rug was wet. None of the animals made a mess, so it was definitely water. I think it came through the door. The little drain at the bottom of the steps outside just dumps into the ground, so I'm betting it was pooling up and getting in through the door. I wasn't home to monitor it, so who knows. Honestly that much rain and that's all that happened, I think I made out ok. No other foundation leaks and the drainfield seemed to hold (even though someone decided to do a load of laundry when I said not to).
