I looked at this truck yesterday for sale by the side of the road. I live in the South so not used to this extent of rot. Passenger rear frame rail was completely in two. Owner was asking $4800 for this!

No it was obscured by the for sale sign unfortunately. The seller said they were aware of the frame issue. Plus it was wrecked in front and passenger side

That sucks! I don't miss the winters in the north and all the road salt and brine solutions on the roads.

Ouch.... Thank you for posting this. There is a guy in Boulder trying to off load an 82 for 3,800 bucks. He fully discloses in the add that the frame is bent and covered in Bondo. He just wanted 3800 buck to "get out of it"..... 3,800 bucks... it's the absolute perfect donor for my identical 81... I offered him 1500 thinking maybe he would take it.... didn't even bother to write me back. I think it's sold.

This is the new Toyota economy.... In all truth, the individual parts in that truck add up really fast. Especially if the interior is nice... sad but true.

Edit: here is his add. I coped it to clipboard a few days ago

You're paying more because it includes the "hopes and dreams"'underbody protection kit.

Dude should just part it out and roll the remainder off for scrap.

If you don't think it's looked at by the owner every day, be chaotic good and print out 8.5x11s of the frame rot, laminate them, and stick them in all the window channels you can manage

If it was an 04 3.4 4x4 manual, and closer to where I live, I’d offer him $3000 and use it for my swap.

It’s crazy how well the body holds up, and then the frame and rear axle just completely rot to $hit.

    Thank you Dana Corp.

I was willing to give 1,000 to 1,500 to use as a parts/project truck but $4,800? Plus it was three hours away from my house and I would have been scared to drive it home
