Alright, I go back even further to the 70's/80-'s and some nice clean Cragars on a 65 GTO.

A friend of my older brother had a GTO. A friend of a younger brother drove a pumpkin-orange 442. A less glamorous vehicle but still memorable was one of the old giant station wagons that were longer than my Tacoma ... 454 engine (I think 454) that got 4-5 MPG was driven by one of my friends.

My grandmother gave me her car when I got a license at 16, it was a 66 Pontiac Le Mans (4 door family version of the GTO). I remember fitting an 8+ foot x-mas tree in the trunk (diagonally) and only having to bend the tip a little bit to fit it. It was a HUGE car. All steel. Got rear-ended by a drunk guy in a Honda Civic one snowy night and his Honda was totaled and my 66 didn't even have a scratch on the bumper. Man I miss that car. BTW - I had a 326 in mine but many of the faster GTO did have 454's. Someday I will get myself a 65 GTO. It is in my future.

Oh man, I haven't thought of the Olds engine in awhile. Best friend in high school, 1970 Cutlass S - 1 step down from the 442. It was his dad's that was sitting in the weeds, told us we could drive it if we got it running. 455 Rocket engine, but then expensive gas was like $0.65. Being in the Midwest, the fenders were rusted out, so any burn out you did the smoke just billowed up inside the backseat and through the rear deck.

What we doing for tint around these parts these days? I figure it's about time.

I haven't been too active for a couple weeks, but I'd like to announce my new riding companion that my girlfriend and I just adopted today. Her name is Ocean, she's a German Shepherd and American Foxhound mix and the sweetest thing!

If you've had vehicles tinted in other states you'll soon learn that AZ is very expensive/overpriced for tint. That said, I did ceramic 20% on the front windows and 35% on the back and rear windows. It's just enough that I can still see out at night.

Maybe expensive (I will trust you on that as I never did back in OH/NC) but after the windshield tint finishes what the side/rear started, the car is tolerable to get into even after it has been sitting in the sun for hours. As long as I do not have to re-tint I will not not complain.

There's a number of people here that have used Omar's on Camelback, as well as me.

I'm a ceramic fan, you can feel the difference in the radiant heat coming through the window between my wife's Subie and the Tacoma.

I've actually never really gotten around to getting any of my cars windows tinted before as they usually were when I got them.

Anyways, I know there used to be a guy that everyone recommended for tint, but that was in the before-fore times so I don't know if he's even around anymore.

I got several quotes ranging from high 500's to 700. Cactus tint in Snobsdale does good work. Xpel in Scottsdale did my Tacoma, but I don't recommend them. I think if you go farther south like Chandler or out west of the 51 prices might be cheaper.

Star Windshield at Chandler/Beck in Chandler did mine (said they will re-apply "free" if a replacement windshield is through them.. When I moved out here with a Corolla that had windows designed for OH, I felt I should be like all of the local riff-raff. It never peeled or bubbled so I went there for the windshield tint. Maybe I should have gone to Snobsdale, but already the investment is paying off. As long as each of us is happy ...
