Truck goes beep...not beep beep

Hey all!

When I press my key fob the truck just goes beep instead of the normal beep beep. It starts up just fine. Any thoughts?

 

We had a major lightning and rainstorm last night. Since driving the truck around it does the regular two beep now. Battery seems normal.

 

Which button are you pressing on the fob? Saying that you "press your key fob" is vague. If the 2nd gen is like the 3rd gen for the beeps, then lock and unlock have different numbers of beeps. I can't remember if one beep was lock or unlock, but it was just the two different functions for audible recognition.

 

Lock should beep once, unlock should beep twice.

 

Wait.. did this vary by year? My 2015 beeps once for lock or unlock.

But when I unlock and need to get into the back doors, I have to hit twice since only 1 press will unlock driver door only.

 

AFAIK it's the same.

1 beep when you hit the lock button, if a door is open when you hit the lock button it's a continuous beep.

2 beeps when you hit the unlock button, 1st press unlocks the driver's door 2nd press unlocks all doors 4 beeps total.

This morning I got one weak beep for unlocking and no beep for locking.

Driving to work it went away. No issues starting, no loss of clock time or radio presets. Just never had that happen before.

 

Speaker could be dying?

 

Maybe a one time thing, but all systems go since yesterday.

 

I had something weird happen yesterday too haha, 2013 Sport, I could have sworn typically my instrument cluster stays dark unless I turn the switch on the stalk on. However starting yesterday with the switch turned all the way back to everything off my cluster backlighting and needles are now staying lit. Can't get them to go off besides by turning the dimmer knob all the way down. Can any of you confirm if I'm losing my mind or not?

 

Feeding them after midnight I guess!

 

Normal, it should dim when the lights are on but the cluster is lit all the time.

 

Huh, I must be losing it... I swear I used to be able to turn everything off with the switch and sit with it running with no interior lights on at all

 

Someone must have left the directed energy weapon machine on this week since we're all hallucinating reality.
