Growing up (poor) my mother always said "save the paper" and we carefully unwrapped things - the paper got used dozens of times over the years. When she passed there were 2 full bureau drawers packed with used paper - some of it dating back to my childhood.

I'm a cheapskate - however I don't mess with used wrapping paper.

 

Mine says save the bows.

Can’t afford ear plugs

 

6 guys out here digging, this is the big boss with his arm up to his elbow in mud trying to find the pipe.

He’s a multimillionaire, I love it when people who are well off aren’t afraid to get in there and get dirty.

 

Shovels or backhoe or what? Anybody whipping out the divining rods? You in the portajohn or what?

 

They dug a little with the trackhoe then broke out 3 shovels. Found the one that was leaking then for some reason the guy on the hoe decided to dig a little more and cut another one. Now our water is off, lol.

I was watching them out the boss's office window.

There could be up to 6 water lines coming in there if they kept them together when the building was built. It has 6 separate units. I was talking to the big boss earlier and he said he was 13 when this building was built which would be in the 1980's.

His dad actually built it but when he decided to get a g/f and his wife found out it kinda split the family apart.

 

What are they doing with the old asphalt?

 

You can really respect a boss that's in the s#!t with you doing work.

Sooo anybody else getting an abundance or crickets in their garage/shop? I had a couple last year, but right it feels like the cricket apocalypse. The amount of cricket poo I just cleaned out of the garage was outrageous

I am not only growing up poor, I now am still saving most of anything I believe is reusable.

 

I hear a ton of them at night. We are in a plague of grasshoppers this year. Chewing the heck out of the wife's plants.
