Sooooo I have a theory. Whenever I got my truck back, I needed to continually add coolant to it as it burped itself after being freshly filled. If I remember correctly I was using a bottle of concentrate, not 50/50. So I probably have a very antifreeze rich cooling system. Antifreeze lowers the water’s ability to pull heat out, which might be contributing to my running warmer than I’d like issue.

tomorrow, I’m gonna siphon out all of the coolant in my radiator, and refill it with distilled water. The day after tomorrow, I have a refractometer arriving so I can actually determine antifreeze concentration, and I ordered 4 bottles of water wetter, a surfactant additive to help the water pull more heat out.

my 250* condenser right in front of the radiator is pumping a lot of heat into my cooling system.

Well I think my theory is correct. I siphoned 1 gallon of antifreeze out of my radiator, and replaced it with one gallon of distilled water and my temps were about 10 degrees cooler on average. never got above 200! Im going to pull another gallon out tonight after it's mixed around. Tomorrow I'll do a refraction test and see where im at before I add the water wetter.

    ALSO!!!!!!

I got off the phone with rugged, the 696 intercom is a mono intercom when used with the standard 5 pin mini xlr. I could buy 5 new headsets that use the helicopter style plug, and then id have "stereo" audio, but Im going to just buy the STX intercom. It's got higher fidelity bluetooth audio and true stereo audio in the headsets.

So that being said, my 696 is for sale haha.

Interesting. I may try and do the same. Mine is 50/50 already but antifreeze isn’t needed all that much in Florida so I can afford to take some out too lol

I think I’m closer to like 70% antifreeze 30% water

Many antifreeze/coolant jugs that are concentrated have a graph on the back showing the water/coolant percentage based on the average temp you live in.

What did we decide was a good way to integrate an ABS kill switch? I’m assuming there’s a wire that powers the abs pump I can disconnect with a normally closed relay.

    Alright. I’m pissed.

The front driver side brake caliper is sticking. Should I do a BBK? I want to keep my 17” wheels. Or should I do a 4runner/GX brake upgrade?

Let me try and find the write-up I used years and years ago for my ABS killswitch. It's really just a ground coming from the relay under the dash IIRC. I have a hidden toggle switch under my dash to turn ABS off/on.

I'd go BBK... and I'm biased, but my Wilwood BBK has been fantastic. Drastic improvement in braking power, not to mention a significant weight savings.

Welp. Ordered the wilwood kit. I’m tired of how much money this truck is stealing from me.

I’ve seen some wilwood 4 pot BBK’s for the Tacoma. They market it as a BBK because of a bigger rotor I guess.

I did this one on mine for an ABS kill switch, worked perfectly for probably 6 years now.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/4lo-trac-abs-kill-switch-why-why-not.257444/
I tried a few other methods before this one, and none of them worked on my 2012 TRD Sport with the ABS controlled “limited slip”. I believe what model you truck originally was will determine what’s the best method for you.
