It came out really nice. Great place to sit with a beverage of choice now.

Needed a short weekend project so I started working on this alder frame for the living room. It will frame a painting that was in a black frame. Black does not go with the new look according to my lovely wife.

Trying something different this time. It fought me a little here and there but I am pleased with how it turned out. New style to me anyway. One coat of finish on.

Edit instead of an additional post.

Benefit of it being 104* in the garage is that poly dries quickly.

Original Watercolor by my father. The view is off the dock of in law’s old lake house. Culver Lake New Jersey. My FIL sold it after my MIL passed. Lots of special memories from that place.

Well the crosses and refrigerator magnets went over very well at church, gone in 60 seconds, lol. Pastors mom got the first cross:D
I guess I better get busy on the next batch as I've already been asked when I'll have more, lol.

Looks like a nice place to enjoy a victory beverage later today!

Love how you up cycled that table instead of trashing it!

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Thanks. Leaning toward a Porch Rocker a little later. And maybe add in the solo stove.

This works well. I did a similar mixer finishing a walnut table. It’s a long process. The mineral spirits thin it out a bit so it’s not a thick coat. 20-30 minutes drying time before another coat, wet sanding it in for the first few minutes. Takes all those fine grains and fills any imperfections.

Bought a CNC router last November to play around with/have more options. These are some of the gems I've made so far.

Looks great! I am super jealous of what people can design and make on those machines.

I almost bought myself a CNC setup last Black Friday. In the end, I decided that the learning curve was too steep for me at this point in my life and I enjoy my time in the garage more than time in front of a computer. I used the money to buy a couple of other tools instead. When I retire from my day job, I will likely go down the CNC rabbit hole.

Keep up the good work and be sure to post your projects as you complete them.

Thanks. There’s soo much you can do with a CNC MACHINE. I haven’t even scratched the surface yet. It’s quite a learning curve and will be for a while since I only mess with it on weekends but the software is quite intuitive and you can fudge your way through simple things like carving signs and other things. I find I’m able to work through things that I couldn’t have a couple months ago. I can’t design 3D models with my software but like the wavy flag and the crocodile you can buy the file from Etsy for a few dollars. It’s a lot of fun.

Sounds like my laser. First your buying files from Etsy, next your grabbing images from the internet and tearing them apart!

I actually bought a 20W laser accessory for my machine but I haven’t used it yet because I want to get a real good grasp of what I’m doing first. I fear if I try the laser I might abandon the router.

I don’t have a clue. I tried researching but that didn’t get me anywhere so I just ordered one offered by the manufacturer of my machine. They also offer a 2W & a 7W.

    Specifications:

    • Quad-core Diode Laser
    • .25″ Solid Wood Cutting in One-PASS @ 5″ipm
    • 3mm Tinted Acrylic Cutting in One-PASS – Clear Acrylic requires masking
    • Automatic offset allowing CNC carving & laser combination projects
    • Fully integrated controller
    • 1024 points of grayscale
    • Adjustable cradle mount for HD5xx Shark CNC’s
    • The kit is designed to fully comply with high-powered Class 4 laser regulations.
    • Keyed switch that enables the laser, with Multiple safety interlocks.
