This is exactly why we don't do vehicle payments. If something happens and money flow stalls for a month or two...I don't want to be broke and walking. We would rather dip into slush funds and still drive.

My parents bought me a truck 15 years ago, which I still have, and I’ve got the title in a fireproof safe; I don’t want to buy a vehicle until I can pay cash!

My nephew has the Tesla 3, got it a few years ago. Pinned my ass in the seat off the line and said he didn't even goose it all the way. I can see where they'd be fun to drive.

I don't hate the EV concept, I just feel it wouldn't be for me at this time.

That could have bought you half of my house roughly in 2004. It's about a quarter of my house today.

We stagger them as best we can, we went from $0 to $500 a month in payments in 2008 within a year. Planned for my $320 on my Colorado but her Tacoma rotted out and added another $175 a month for her Rav4, but getting out the door with an almost new ride after that was nice. That said we at least had the 3 yr old Rav and the new Colorado so avoided repair bills.

Love or hate, y'all should watch the Flying Wheels channel on Youtube. He has a series on the Cybertruck.

All the electrical components failing in my dad's 1984 S10 Blazer was the reason his next 3 vehicles had crank windows and manual locks.

I was just browsing Craiglist and truck prices are obscene in PA.

That's pretty darn good. I usually aim to put at least 20% down so I don't have to pay for mortgage insurance.

My girlfriend is one of four people who rents a room in an old lady’s house. One of the tenants has a rusty 2011 Silverado Z71 that he still owed money on, and the repo man picked it up yesterday. Even in the atrocious physical condition it’s presently in, that truck is probably worth close to ten grand!

And they probably wouldn’t give a shit about the rust! Who knows who’ll buy it at the repo auction…

I put 20% down as not having PMl was a big plus. Been paying the equivalent of 3.5 extra payments per year in hopes of knocking it from 15 years down to around 10 or so.

I have had mostly older vehicles in terms of the total I've owned, plus most I couldn't really test out prior to purchase. At best they were at the age those things were going to start being an issue..at worst, already were and I wouldn't know

We had a 20% GOE that got us out of that, but that's rare of course.

We got more ice than snow. I wasn’t even four years old and I can remember slipping on the driveway. While either driving to work or home from work in the aforementioned 1992 Dodge Dakota, my dad got hit by a woman in a Toyota Tercel. The Dakota needed a left taillight cover, a rear bumper, and some paint work.

I wouldn’t mind buying a truck in California that failed smog, because it’s probably rust-free, and it’ll probably pass emissions here!
