i thought the mag nuts worked on steel wheel because they were tapered, they just look kinda funny, i didnt understand all the concern by others and the steel wheels nuts are an acorn style too i think

I think it was @MGMDesertTaco who showed a picture of the two types. They are VERY close but not quite good enough match for long term use. To get one out of normal forest roads and mild offroading, yes, but get the right ones for long term use.

Its nice and I wish i could get my hands on one. The chrome 2018 grill can be painted black but its just not the same and there isn't a way to integrate the front camera like the nightshade (i think?).

maybe thats why the factory puts temp use only sticker on the spare, because of the lug nuts, .....the spare wheel looks pretty stout to me

I believe it is labeled "temporary use only" because it doesn't have the tire pressure monitoring valve. As a matter of interest, in Canada, manual transmission Tacomas don't have TPMS at all, but the spares all have the same sticker; I just peel it off.

Same that came on the ugly standard steelie 5 star for the sr and sr5.?. When I worked for Toyota back in the day someone managed to take the steelie spares off 20 trucks one night. I guess that’s how you get a few sets of them.

You can, I had the SR steelies on mine and when I sold the set I gave the guy who bought them all but 6 of the lugs. I kept those 6 in case I needed to use the spare (obviously in the truck). I feel like the ET lugs I'm currently running would do just fine though.

This really makes me go back and tell myself I need to get a 5th matching wheel and add it into my rotation cycle. It's one of those mods that I REALLY don't want to spend money on.

I do too, but I believe it depends on what model truck your driving.
I have an SR and my friend has an SR5.... They both use the same shocks/springs and they both have on road mannerisms of a sedan.
I had a friend get a TRD off road as a loaner and my father in law also has an OR. The guy said to me how do you drive one of these , it feels like the thing is going to rattle apart... That suspension is a bit stiffer especially on E load tires.
I've never been in a sport, but I believe that suspension is stiff as well.
It pro I'd imagine is a different animal all together with the reservoirs.

I'm not off-road in gnarly situations very often, so the stock, smooth, squishy SR suspension is perfect for my daily driving, odd jobs, service roads, beach excursions, and kyak trips.

If I was on rocks and grades a lot I might not like it.

I believe so. That's a lot of hand cranking to lower all 20 spares!o_O

The steel spares actually look pretty good when they're powder coated to match the vehicle.

In 2018 I asked DiscountTire to verify my doughnut spare in my 2007 Corolla. They instead quoted me $170 for a new doughnut tire-only because 10 years is "dead". I instead replaced for $160 with a full-size tire and an inexpensive steelie because the spare tire bay had the room.

Did another test. My first test was an empty cooler and the portable station ended up lasting 11hrs reaching 6% when I checked it in the morning. The fridge was working more since it was empty.

This next test I threw an ice pack in to mimic having cold food/drinks in it. It’s been 8.5 hrs and it’s only at 78%. So in ideal weather the 300W has more than enough juice to power it through the day. The fridge doesn’t run when it reaches the desired temperature and if you’re able to help it stay there then it’ll continue to save energy. I’m planning to buy the insulated cover for the fridge to help it keep the temp. The solar panel should be enough to recharge the station should I be in one spot most of the day and worst case scenario, it won’t take much to top off the battery when you plug the station in the truck with the 100W/400W outlet.

I threw 5100’s on the rear only at stock height and they keep the sag away with a load; also it didn’t change the ride quality unless you’re specifically trying to notice a difference.
