We can’t say the word walk in front of doggo. If we say walk or touch the leash he goes freaking crazy. Rather than saying walk we just say to each other “W”. He will soon learn what W is and we’ll have to start using another word. Critters are excellent at training their peeps. The cat has turned me into his servant.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
    So much for retirement...

A buddy called last Sat. He needed an extra set of hands on a job he was starting this week, wanted to know if I was available...it would be a full day.

This window was a monster, 14' long by 5 1/2' tall. Old one was rotted, turns out it was never insulated and sweated...so much for professional installers...

Twelve and a half hours of tear out, repair support structure, insulate and rough install the frame and sashes. Too much like work...

The house has 3 more like it that need to be replaced.

And here I am at what was the cool pizza place. I'm too old, freshly shaved, with no tattoos, so service is hipster slow. Wife wanted thin crust, not Chain. Tasty, but still....

Yup, I get it occasionally too. Treating boomers bad because we didn't make sure they were all born with silver spoons.

My garden is toast! Why I even bother I’m not sure. May have to rethink about even having a garden. I think I could buy all “organic” veges for less than my water bills.
I guess it just gets me outside. Nice evening on the porch. 77* with a nice breeze and cloudy. Weather channel shows it’s raining…NOT!

I've been wondering if putting the garden under a sun shade might help it get through the heat. Do they grow gardens in Phoenix? And if they do, how do they protect it from the temps?

sighing in agreement. Never was about "saving money"; green house exists for winter storage of pots. Power is all solar, so costs nothing. I have well watered greenery that produces little in this heat. This year, may be the last I mess with veggies in the summer.

The trick is to have 2 gardens--one early and one late. The sun pretty much kills the first one.

I know I can buy veggies and produce cheaper than I can grow them. It’s just that I love growing veggie gardens. It just makes me feel good when I’m out tending my garden. I started when I was a kid helping my dad plant and tend his garden. When I got out of college and bought my first house , the first thing I did was set aside a plot in the back yard for my garden. Still enjoy it today. Every morning the first thing I do is pour a cup of coffee and head out to check out my garden . I may be able to buy produce cheaper at the store but nothing can compare with the taste of my fresh vegetables.

I've been on/off about gutter guards for too long. My landscape guy brought a sample by yesterday, that he installs, and it's just what I was looking for. Heavier than the cheap thin screen junk (I have the occasional tree limb falling too). He assures me they will blow clean. Decent price, I don't have to install them. So it's a go. Glad that decision is off my mind. Wife's been after me for years to stay off the roof. Living in/near the woods has its own unique issues. One by one, we've solved them. We both want to stay here as long as possible. It's the boonies, inconvenient, peaceful, quiet..
