It's not a huge deal...but I have to pull that fan and intake panel to access my cartridge style filter. Lot crammed in the back of these cars.

a problem I'd like to have.

 

It only had 3200 miles on it when I got it. PO changed the oil at 6 months with about 1600 miles on it. So yeah...she's just a baby.

The 2GR has had a cartridge filter since 2004 and I've owned other Toyotas with them. It's not quite has convenient as the 1GR. But it's not that big of a deal either.

 

Automatic?

 

Unfortunately....yes.

 

Do they still hold like 12 quarts of oil like the old air cooled days or is it less these on the later ones?

 

Down to 9 qt on the watercooled. IIRC the early turbo cars might have been 15.

Had the last service call of the day at the newly built homeless shelter in Portland. Mark knows the one, on Riverside. JFC. The supervisor told us “oh this is normal” *gestures at everything* ..”and every day is a new adventure in this place”.
