I just installed an auxiliary fuse box with 3 always hot switches. They each have a small LED that is now always on. Im very new to battery draw and power outputs. I want to confirm that these will not somehow drain my battery unless the car is left alone for weeks correct? Thanks!

They will drain out your battery slowly. It shouldn’t be on the whole time.

You have to wire the power supply to a fuse that only receives power when the ignition is on. Had the same issue. If you wire direct to the battery it will always be on as it is always receiving 12v.

Roger. You can leave them always hot. They will draw from the battery. Around 3v per LED so 9v total. Probably around 1w per LED? At all times. You probably have 150-200hrs before your battery is completely flat. Your turck battery is not built to go totally flat. It will damage it. It's designed for short bursts of big amps (to start the engine), not long runs of small amps. Temp also effects batteries so YMMV.

You could probably leave those for weeks on end without an issue. Small LEDs like that are very low draw. 20mA according to the Carling FAQ site. I believe the truck control modules draw somewhere in that range even when everything is 'off' and key out

That being said, if you post the exact switch you have and the wiring diagram we might be able to give you some alternate ideas

Disconnect the ground wire on the switch, they are still going to be always hot and are still going to work the way they are supposed to but the lights will be always off
