ya no idea what that stuff is. haha

It should be on the passenger side by the kick panel. You'll need to pull the carpet back a bit to see it way up there.

It’s weird because it’s been spliced into the wiring harness that runs under the driver’s seat and grounded under the seat. I’m just gonna pull it out. I’m gonna look more for the relay.

IMG_2749.jpgThis is everything behind the kick panel. I unbolted the ABS relay to see if it was behind it. I can’t see the relay anywhere. This is frustrating!

ah do you have a locker? It's probably the gray wire mod which grounds out the switch for the locker so you can engage it in 2wd and not just in 4wd. So i'd leave that alone if so.

Nothing in the driver’s side either. I did notice I could hear a small click behind the ignition area when I pushed the 4wd button, so tomorrow we are gonna pull the dash apart and see if it’s what I hear clicking. Thanks for giving me an idea what to look for!

I’m chasing down a parasitic draw and found a nice drop at the aftermarket amp for my sound system. The connections weren’t great at the battery, so I cut the connections off and replaced them and rerouted them to clean up the look a little. The previous owner used the cheesy(to me… they trap liquids and looks like shit) plastic wire wrap, so I used some leftover wrap I bought for a full rewire I did on my project car. It looks better and doesn’t trap moistures. It looks better and I after I detail the shit out of the engine bay, I’ll be a happier man.

I did some smoke tests as well, looking for leaks.

Yes, I’m trying to find the 4wd relay to see if it is what won’t engage 4wd.

03-04 the 4wd computer is located behind the dual cigarette plug. On 01-02 and possibly older model, I seen the computer located above the glove box.

Put fuel in it...does that count?
Also, I feel like it needs a bigger tank. Fifteen gallons is pretty wimpy.

IMG_2750.pngI found this image last night. Looks like the relay is way up in the dash beside the glovebox. We pulled the glovebox down yesterday, but will look even higher tonight. Do you know if I can take the actuator off the transfer case without having to open the transfer case? It’s a limited model.

IIRC, not for the first gen. You must disassemble the case to remove the actuator. There’s a shaft that is part of the actuator and goes from the rear case where is mounted and through the entire case.

maybe someone can come in and correct me.

Based on the battery I assume this might be lojack or something.

Fluid film time. Will wash and degrease underside of grime and then do the yearly application of FF

It was wired crappy, so I pulled it and threw it into the garage for now. I figured it must not be too important since it was corroded to the floorboard and the wire broke apart when I started pulling it from under the carpet.

Thinking I'm going to cut out the "passenger seat" bump of my Xtra cab to make more room for a subwoofer, probably fiberglass base since it's not exactly flat under that spot. Talk me out of it?
