just a couple of things tbh
he is correct. unless he had a spare wheel to put a street tire on he will wear down his knobby in no time... my knobbies on my old klx had about 2k miles on them if that and they were worn down pretty far! and they are not near as soft as what he has.

I agree your rack looks super robust, and that system is proven. No argument there.

It's called MoTow. They focus on hitch mounted, GROUND LOADING toy haulers. E bikes and motorcycles. Interesting stuff.

I wonder how that would work if you added it to a camper. I've been looking at Scamp 5th wheels and from what I gather(not sure if it's a factory upgrade or standard), they can handle 500lbs on the rear bumper. And would it then be considered a double trailer....cause we can't do that in AL.

Cool. Haven't seen that. Is there reasons behind loading the rear and not the front? Only thoughts I can come up with are chain/sprocket wear and not letting the countershaft spin the entire drive.
I used to have this. Agreed pretty fun around town

FYI, the girl in the video owns her own womens Moto clothing company. She designs the gear and finds producers globally. Her name is Trinity....

If it accidentally gets put into gear it's gonna be a bad day too.

Neighbor had an older single cab chevy truck (C10 maybe? I'm terrible with old american anything) lowered on 22's. Took it camping in the mountains with his dirtbike all the time. Only complaint was when he went to 24's lol, switched back to the 22's shortly after.

using the front wheel has been done for decades, and creates some risk

-if the bike accidentally goes into gear you engage the drive train and multiple issues come into play. Now there IS friction on the tire (wear) and possible drive train damage.
-all the weight of the bike is being placed on the head tube/bearings. Lateral forces, steering forces. Strain increases with bike weight

With the motow the entire bike becomes a rigid panel - nothing moves but the wheel upon the axle, and at that, there is NO lateral force. Front suspension, designed to absorb the weight of bike plus rider at high speed in pot holes and cornering demands, is now only carrying a fraction of the weight of a riderless bike, and meets zero resistance as it contacts bumps etc. It's literally the equivalent of spinning a wheel in a truing stand...but with a couple hundred pounds resting on the shocks (which are designed for massive force) Steering head strain is eliminated.

I'm not an employee, just a freind of the company owner, and I own one and use it often. Happy to represent.

It's not for all bikes for sure.

I'm a user, and still, I'd want eyes on what I'm towing. The hitch states a 600 max bike weight. I think you'd be pushing your luck honestly.

This is where my brain has gone as I consider wanting a camper, and to have my bike at my destination....

    It'd be cool to try.

I'd probably still want to spring for a spare wheel/tire since that'd be a cheap insurance.

yeah. that would make sense. Don't you dirt bike guys usually have a shit ton of tools and cables and such anyway? My buddy races XC on this...goes to races every weekend with an air compressor and an impact gun.

Joined the moto club, picked up a 2021 KTM 390 Adventure. Already had some motoZ tires and riser bars on it and I added pegs, new seat, fork risers.

Bike isn’t super fast, but it’s super fun. Good mix of being good on road and capable off road. And it’s light!
