How are these tires in the rain?

 

Never had any complaints the couple of times that I've had them in the rain. Pretty good downpours on highways. That was with a few hard miles on them.

 

Same, Ive always felt 100% confident to just blast through highway water....you know when everyone looks like they are boating....on the 255 pizza cutters. Also on a FJC, so weight it pretty evenly distributed compared to a truck.

 

I've been wanting to get these tires for a long time and finally got them recently.

Crawling on the rocks and playing in the mud they're awesome! These things are going to be fun come winter when there's lots of mud to play in.

Looks like that's around $50/tire cheaper than Discount Tire, so definitely a very good price!

 

I would go to Discount/Americas tire and have them price match

 

I second this anyshop with clout in the name does not sound reliable.

 

I had been watching prices on my specific tire size for a while and I found them on Amazon for lower than I'd seen in over a year so I called America's Tire and they price matched it. The price was $70 less per tire. Two days later before I even had the tires installed the price went up on Amazon but America's Tire honored it.

Did you have to cut into the cabmount a lot and trim the back of the wheel well to make the 315s not rub with those -38? I have -25 and I was worried there would be a lot of cutting involved

 

I did a CMR. And beat the hell out of the fire wall with a sledge hammer.

I have 35/12.5/17 not 315's which are slightly different in hight and width but very close. I decided I would buy exactly what I wanted and would then cut and beat whatever it took to make them clear.

In this pic below I started by cutting most of the cab mount off and did not rub unless I would turn into a steep hill at full lock/stuff



Here is pic of my CMR which clears at full stuff/lock very well. Will also clear 37's

Wow. I've looked at the relocate. I'd definitely want to find a local shop who really knows what they are doing before I commit to that.

So another year has passed with these tires and I was positive they would of been cooked and ready to replace by this fall. I was mistaken, i will easily get one more summer out of them. That will give me 3 years and approx 60,000km out of them by the end of next year. No actual measurements on hand to gauge the current wear but they have continued to wear even as long as rotations are kept up. The front can get a bit of minor cupping but some of that I relate to my front shocks being cooked earlier this year.
295/70r17 ran at 32 psi mild build weight towed semi regularly overall I have no noteworthy complaints, they did get louder as they wore but for what the tire is it's plenty acceptable.
I was starting to shop for an AT as iv been on the hwy way more and wheeling less these days but with what I have gotten out of these tires I think it will be a hard sell to change.

 

Finally stepped up to the plate and swapped the old ridge grapplers for these badboys.
