Decal suggestions - Ex scratched my truck while parking

Any suggestions for a decal to cover a scratch my ex left on my truck while trying to park?

For those curious, we broke up for reasons unrelated to this, but now the scratch is bothering me.

 

3 yo truck- I'd take it to a good collision shop and get it fixed correctly. The second pic looks like there is a good sized dent above. You can pay for it now,, or you can pay for it later, but you're going to pay either way, unless you drive it until it rots out and dies.

 

If that is touch up paint, just bring it to a shop. If that is scuffing on the OEM paint, I would try taking scratch X to it and see how it looks and then go from there on your decision. Like said above, that truck is too new to drive around like that and if you ever go to sell or trade you will lose your a$$ because of the paint..... unless you are into rock crawling etc. and will end up with more body damage, then don't even bother.

 

Your truck earned a battle scar. It's a truck.. drive it, haul stuff and have fun finding the next girl.

 

Suction cup the dent and buff it. It looks like an easy fix.

 

Find someone who want to offroad where she assumed that battle-scar was earned.

 

You can go to a wrap shop, put same color to match truck, do it on both sides so it doesn’t look tacky. I did this many moons ago. Dent should be easy with a suction cup like someone suggested.

 

If it doesn't bug you more than losing a few hundred bucks, leave it. It's a truck. My truck is only 3 years old and has little dings and scratches. It's life. Take it off road and enjoy it, I'd personally leave it as is.

Your ex or her insurance should pay to make it right. If she won’t, take her to small claims court. If you don’t want to do that then just live with it. It’s not that bad, the only one that will really notice it is you.

 

Lawyers cost money, even to file the suit. And if lawyers are brought in after insurance has paid, the insurance company *can* take any payment you coerce from the ex to compensate their payment ... called "subrogation", which can fly under the radar if there is no "legal attention" paid to the affair.

And I do not want to appear on Judge Judy.

I agree with "just leave it". Worse will happen in the future if one keeps offroading.

No lawyers are involved in small claims court. It’s just you and the other party in front of a judge. It’s easy and cheap. I know 2 different people who have taken their cases to small claims and won. And if the other party doesn’t pay there are easy ways to force payment. I threatened a neighbor with small claims court after he refused to pay his share of a fence I put up between our properties. Just before our court date he paid me because he knew he was going to lose. You may consult with an attorney but you cannot have an attorney represent you in small claims court.

 

Sounds like the OPs issues with his ex run way deeper than a scratch on a truck.
