I've read through the forums as well as some other pages found on Google and cannot find a conclusive answer to my dilemma so I figured I'd ask here before I dig into it as I bet someone here has the answers.

Looking to install a set of longer wheel studs on my 06 Taco, there is a good thread with details about doing this in the 3rd Gen section but nobody there discusses the questions I'm wondering about - this is the thread Extended Wheel Studs Installed - Which Brands Work

First the question of using the Dorman #610-463 studs on the rear axle of the 2nd Gen - do these studs not fit in the rear with 2nd Gens too? As much as I'd like to rock the ARP studs they're pretty pricey compared to the Dormans so if I can avoid shelling out the extra dough I'd rather do that. I found a video on Faye Hadleys channel where she uses these on both front and back but I wouldn't mind a second opinion.

Second question I'm wondering about is in regards to fitment of stock wheels with these Dorman studs installed, obviously not an issue with aftermarket wheels but if one was to go back to running OEM wheels for some reason, would the extended shank of the stud interfere with proper seating of the wheels? Obviously one can remedy the issue with wheel spacers if that is indeed the case but that that point it may be just a better ideal to spend the extra bucks and go with ARP studs that do not have the extended shank without the threads.

Thank you in advance to those who take the time to answer!

I appreciate the suggestion but according to the thread l have listed above, these are the same style as the Dorman units with the thread-less shank bit at the head, about the same price too so I wonder if these are just the same ones, website does not list any part numbers hmmm I'll try calling them on Monday to see if they are indeed like the ones in the picture or the Dorman style.

Those do look like the ones from ARP and are reasonably priced as well, I need a full set of 24 for front and back - I'd take these of your hands if I wasn't in a pinch to get these as soon as possible and with today's shipping services performance I'd rather not split into 2 packages.

I completely forgot about evilBay when it comes to buying parts so thank you for the reminder as well as pointing me to these studs, these eliminate my dilemma of dealing with the Dorman shank.

Got the studs today and while they do not say ARP on the head, I'd not be surprised if these are made in the same factory that makes the ARP studs.

Ordered a 2x sets which is 24, got 25 so I have one spare should there be an issue but these do look rather good and if the rating on the head is correct they should work just fine considering these are 1/4 price of the ARPs.

I did the dormans front and back and without taking apart the brake drums. It can be done but does require some patience and small fingers.
