Sorry if asked and answered but I want to know if anyone has Method 701 on their stock TRD OR (22)? My truck spend 95% of its time on pavement and would only ever see light trail work, this is all for looks gents. Was thinking 17's with 265/70/17. Eventually will add Bilstien 5100's and a small lift(think Trail Edition) for looks more than anything else. If not will go with 16" rims and stock size tires. Should I expect rubbing or any other issues?
thanks in advance for any advice

Stock Tacoma wheels are +25mm offset if I'm not mistaken. Most if not all Method race wheels are 0mm offset. Give the tire just a slight bump out but its not super dramatic.

I have 16 inch 701s on my Tacoma. I've run 265/75 r16s tires on my last Tacoma on stock wheels without rubbing. I'm 90% sure you can run 17s with that tire size without rubbing. Furthermore, if you know your truck is going to stay a pavement princess I suggest going with 17s over 16s as it will handle a bit better. For offroad applications I recommend 16s because you get a little more meat out of the tire and that almost certainly absorbs bumps better.

There are +25 sizes available. Seen plenty for sale on FB marketplace but most are for 17” wheels I’ve seen.

Oh well if thats the case then I don't think you have anything to worry about at all. Get yourself a set of 17s and get to it.

I've cleared 265/75 r16 with the OEM offset with zero issue. 265/70 r17 is just less sidewall.

Thanks for the kind replies, I know nothing about tires, wheels, offset. I have never tried to modify or change a vehicle I have owned, everything has always been stock.(I'm 59). I plan on keeping this truck for a long time. The 7" v. 8" size is what I was questioning about. Thank you for the info

Rubbing would vary on the tire size

Was thinking 265/70/17. I do have mud-flaps. Ive heard there are fitment issues with the method 701's. Is this an issue? Like I said "i don't know nuthin' about nuthin'" I like the look of the 701's over the rest of the line. I only do mild off road 2-3 times a year.
