That might just be the path. Go with an extended length shock setup by accutune and accept that I'll need to liberally use the shock adjusters between daily driving and doing anything at speed.

Just picked up my truck from JD. Raised the front shock mount with 2" longer King shock ends new top mount. Got my lost steering back I can now do a 1 point U turn again. Had some tie downs added in the bed for spare tire bed mount with Speed strap. Making the swing out optional for different trips. Truck looks damn strange without the swing out. That's a lot of weight off the ass end.

The extra travel will also blow oe style bonded rubber bushings apart pretty quickly, especially as you start to run it harder because long travel.

I've been in Utah all week visiting my brother. Gotta say the whole 'dry heat' thing is real as hell. This 90-105 ish with dry air is MUCH more bearable imo than 80- 100 and similar humidity percentages we get in jersey all summer

I know most people want to have the greater struggle with everything these days but its true.
Also amazing how many trails there are around. How people out here get stuck mall crawling when they can just hit dirt on the way home n shit is insane to me

More or less the same conclusion as what caboose said. But are you regularly hitting bump stops or full droop now? Cause if not you'd be better of getting what you can from a stock width setup first and seeing how things go from there. Its cheaper and much less work and a good chance it'll end up being what you're looking for if you're not already breaking stuff. The parts will have good resale value if it turns out you will benefit from the extra travel and performance of an LT kit and decide to switch

Not to distract from other topics going on right now but...

Headed out tomorrow to the beach to tune my bypasses and have a few questions.

Ordinarily I would turn my clickers full tight and have decent results up to 40-50mph.

Recently valved my coilovers to 12/12 from a 12/15.

Bypasses are fully open to baseline.

Should I still turn my compression up on the coilovers or leave them open and rely on bypasses for all tuning?

honestly can do lots of different combinations. ideally you want heat in both and not one getting super hot vs the other. alot of times it seems the coilover gets valved too high and is doing alot more work (still having this problem in mine) and ideally if ones gonna get hotter aka doing more work, it would be the one with better adjustability.

Bump stops no, full droop yes. I've actually got a set of railroad tracks I'm hitting 20-30mph faster than most people on my commute that I'm using as a convenient benchmark, and I'm finding my current OME setup to be dreadfully lacking. Front under damped, rear over sprung (I think), just messy, and it's zero fun on FS roads. I'm actively comparing my next upgrade options of 6112/5160's (simple and cheap), Accutune'd Foxes (simple, not cheap), and LT in order of expense and tuning fuckery, and I found that there is a WIDE price gulf between Accutune'd Fox/Kings and literally anything long travel. It just felt odd in a world where we have factory LT trucks, but now I see where there's limitations that prevent inexpensive LT on our platforms.

Last question: bump stop upgrades are good on pretty much any suspension right?

I would advise people to find a local shock tuner OR someone they can actually talk to about valving the Kings/Fox's/Whatever of their choice.

Tell them how you want it to ride, how you drive, etc. It will go much further than any off the shelf "Tacoma custom tune"

When I was stock width, upgrading bumps was the best bang for bump I ever spend.
I had wheelers super bumps and loved them.
I plan on getting some duro bumps for my daily 4Runner even on stock clapped suspension.
I wouldn’t bother with hydro bumps unless LT.

CO comp adj is for Medium speed bumps( Not MPH), id adjust that last, I have them too and when playing with them in the des I noticed better handling around windy washes but very harsh over fine or chattered washboard trails.

Why duro bumps over super bumps on the 4Runner?
