Mostly flat, maybe a dozen decent hills, including a steep freeway on-ramp. But this motor makes such good power in the upper rpm’s that I can drop to 3rd at any highway speed and it is comfortable there until I clear the steep hill. Most hills are climbed in 4th. Gradual inclines in 5th.

just a couple of things tbh
incorrect it will be the trans that goes first lmao. i had a 22 ranger and it towed leaps and bounds better then a tacoma did or even could because of how it was built and setup. its trans thou was the weak point and they have since fixed the issue.

I don't have a problem with the weight. The truck and drivetrain will PULL what you have and a lot more. I've PULLED 20,000 lbs with my Tacoma and as much as 30,000 lbs with an old 1968 IH Scout. But I was PULLING the weight, none was on my trucks. It's WHERE you have the weight that is the problem. Put everything in a bigger trailer and I don't have any problems with what you did.

But the weight in your bed in addition to the tongue weight of the trailer makes this a dangerous situation. The more weight you put on the rear axle, the less you have on the front. And it is the front axle that does 100% of the steering and about 80% of the braking. It's going to take a lot more than this to actually get the front wheels off the ground, but your front wheels aren't firmly planted to the pavement; your steering and braking are compromised with that load.

Yes, you can do it, you obviously did. And as long as everything goes right, and you drive carefully you can get by. But sooner or later we all have one of those "Oh Shit" moments where something unexpected happens. When that happens, you'll wish you had a bigger truck or a smaller load.

I am going to tell you right now that all is well on flat ground towing with a manual trans. But, try being at a stop on a hill with that load. It will change your mind. 2GR-FKS has no torque to move that load below 3000 rpm. Clutch will take a beating.

That recall has absolutely nothing to do with the engine having a turbo. Don’t try to twist facts to fit a false narrative.

Definitely following you around, you’re just that important of a person to dedicate my time to. Have to make sure you feel special somehow.

But seriously, what does a recall for shitty quality control on bottom end machining have to do with the turbo?
