That's a lot better outcome than I expected was possible with the method you were describing :)

Wow, my 17 has the dreaded super white cancer :annoyed: and I would like to do that as well, but Toyota nixed getting reimbursement for paint jobs with their newest notification about this. I’m impressed with your work, good job!

Now, don’t park next to or don’t go touching other super white trucks or you’ll spread the cancer back onto your truck!

Wow great job, mine's peeling in the same spot. Wonder if and why that's such a common spot.

Thanks for the complement! As for the flares, they have deep scratches in them, so I will probably end up painting them after I sand out/fill the scratches. I am just having trouble finding the correct product to fill the scratches...

Ya, not sure, but the beds may be manufactured and prepped separately from the cab, so perhaps a supplier cutting corners?

Ya, I was not expecting it to come out as well as it did, but the magic is in the prep and finish work.

The difference with the Super White is that it is a single stage paint, so I think the peeling less the paint's fault but more a bad chemical bond, or it was painted with contaminants on the surface. In any case this process can be repeated...

Shops don’t use ‘bondo’ anymore, now
They use an epoxy filler (like 5 to 1 mix)
That is what I would recommend/use

to get the scratches and texture out
And a shit ton of sand paper and patience!

    FYI
I found that a professional spray-on bedliner vendor does wonders
And costs lil more than materials alone (for proper painting)
    S paper/epoxy/primer/paint/etc

    that’s what I did

    Interesting.

kid has been asking me if some exhaust system has sold here on FS forum
Your link gives me another option

    My Son is…..well…..low key
You want aggressive All-Terrain tires or just regular tires?
    Regular.
    Offered a free lift kit(installed)…..
Naw dad rather have cracked windshield fixed.

    incredible.

however, he has asked about this exhaust twice. I’m kinda worried that he won’t like the louder exhaust note
    Guess will ask him again

thank goodness you or he has a '96 5-lug
the '97 and up 5-lugs were not quite so 'aggressive' looking in some opinion circles

that stuff definitely works As Long as the crusty is not so bad

The bead liner option is interesting. I am guessing it covers up some of the blemishes, due to the texture. If you don't mind me asking, how durable has it ended up being and what brand did you use?

My wifes 16 highlander had the paint issue, Toyota contacted us about a recall? I guess it was. Had 1 spot right in front of the sunroof, when we took it in they kept it and did all the tests, ended up painting the whole highlander except for the hatch door. Her's is called a blizzard pearl white or something like that, but the paint was peeling off after the tests were done.
