Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

Well, after a 10 minute YouTube video on Electrolux dryers half hour later, all taken apart new heater coil put in, all back together

 

That’s what I made!

 

Apparently it is, was, or will be popular to carry a small fixed blade knife. I figured I'd order a couple of cheap ones to see if I liked the idea. The handles on the two I got were too small, so I whittled new scales from a scrap of ash. It's not a lot bigger, but it feels a lot better in my hand. Just finished today, so I don't know if I'll like it or not.

 

I've put 3 heating coils in mine cause its 30 years old and my wife refuses to get rid of it cause she knows a new one might not last 6 months.
She even ordered a spare heating coil, its in my shop.

 

Out by the pond the other day and found a turtle nest. Took a peek inside and found this little guy (there were two other siblings that didn't make it).

Built a mini camp stove out of a coffee can and some bean cans today, it worked ok.. these small fire stoves seem to require constant attention

So, the hole by the shed is definitely a ground hog. Was too dark to get a good shot, so another day. I figure a .223 Wylde is appropriate

 

Spent the night last night getting smoked out by our neighbors below us.. Happens year round on random nights.

Not only do we get to see the haze of the wildfires, we get to smell a reasonable facsimile…
