My Uncle worked at Windsor's CKLW Channel 9. Remember Poopdeck Paul & Captain Jolly?

Oh yeah, CKLW, wow jogging the old memory. My sisters listened to CKLW for some reason they played more Motown music

CKLW also had an after school dance show called Swingin Time with Robin Seymour
They sent a couple to American Bandstand who went on to win the Big Dance Competition.

Smuggling Canadian cigarettes and beer across the border. They were cooler, I think it was even more expensive due to the exchange rate o_O:canada:

I had a Detroit News route, then sold it. Yeah you bought and sold your route based on how many customers you had, cost was one weeks worth of collections amount. Then I got a Detroit Free Press route, those got delivered before school, sold that route off in less than a year for obvious reasons. Then got a new Detroit News route, it was my street, the smallest route in the station. Mom and dad got it for free.:D On Sundays I would take extras and go up to the corner of Grand River and Seven Mile Road and sell them for cash. The Detroit News Sunday edition was delivered in the AM , I could deliver my route, sell my extras and still get to church on time

My Dad's wife attempted to smuggle 8 pairs of granny panties across the Ambassador Bridge. She confessed to the customs agent that she was wearing them all. He had her waddle inside to their checkpoint bldg. and pay the duty on her booty!

1968: I came to Lexington, KY. It had two stations, one of them carried some ABC and some CBS. I was surprised.

Crosby, Stills , Nash , and Young , The Band , Jesse Colin Young, and special guest, Joni Mitchell. University of Toronto Stadium, outside, it rained. Best concert I’ve ever seen.

I had a Macomb Daily route in Utica MI. with 100 customers. Earned a trip to Expo '67 selling subscriptions. A group of us were given spending money & turned loose each day. Great memories.
