    Morning Guys
I checked the truck this morning and it appears to be plugged into the correct spot. Any other ideas?

    You paid $6,000.
You shouldn’t even have to be “looking” at it.

Take it back and demand they figure it out. Dude, they ripped you off at $6k. Make them fix it.

You could unbolt the actuator and see if it moves. If it doesn’t, it the actuator.
If it does…… Things just got bad. That means something in the air box is loose or broken. You have to dismantle the dash.

Again, take it back and don’t talk to the same dumbass service advisor. Ask for a manager.

Are a blend door actuator and a mode actuator the same? Could this or one of these be the problem? Do you have to drop the dash to replace?

You should be able to replace any of the three servos. Tedious but doable.

    This drawing may help:

Air inlet - selects fresh or recirc air
Mode control - selects location where air exits, defrost floor etc,,,
Air mix - controls the hot and cold air for temperature control,

No. A blend door controls the temperature. Toyota calls a “blend door” the air-mix servo.

The mode control, controls which vents the air comes out of.

It sounds like the mode control. I'm not sure if it will be warranty they didn't replace that part.

This is the first vehicle I have ever had to replace the entire A/C system on. Kinda disappointing. I've owned other Toyota vehicles and never had this kind of issue. Just replaced the normal stuff that goes out like waterpumps, belt and tensioners. The truck only has 108,000 miles

I'm finding it hard to believe the "whole" system needed to be replaced.
One can argue the fact that metal "could" contaminate the "whole" system if the compressor fails internally.
But the fact is, you can usually get away with a compressor/ condenser / dryer.
Most shops don't do the evaporator. Mostly because it's a lot of work. And partially because parts are total garbage these days.
If it's not leaking, and holds vacuum, the dash isn't coming apart.

BTW, they had to take the dash apart to replace the evaporator. And while I'm typically on the side of the technicians, I have have a suspicion it was caused by the technician.
Even if it wasn't, that's part of doing business. Even more so when you charge $6,000. At that cost, you can eat a part or two.

Thinking maybe they forgot to plug back in on the ac controls that’s under the radio.

And to make it worse they replaced the evap core with a aftermarket one because the OEM was on backorder and it had to be replaced due to metal contamination. I hope they will be honest and not fix a mistake and try and charge me for something else. I mean I don't know at this point if the tech forgot to plug something in or it needs a another part and they can say what they want. I doubt a tech is going to want to eat the labor time to pull a dash down even it if is his fault.

The tech dropped the ball if he shipped the car after repair and didn't test his work. Should have been noted on the repair order there was still a problem.

As a tech I would want a chance to make something right if I screwed up.
Would I want to do the job again? No but if something isn't right because of something I did I'm gona do what I can to make it right.
That being said I would have checked that everything worked after I did a job like that before letting it go.

Also don't really have a use for service advisors, granted there are some good ones but I'd rather talk to the customer myself. Alot of stuff gets lost in translation between the advisor, tech, and customer.

Well I brought my truck in today and it was fixed in under an hour. Some type of servo on the evap case was not aligned correctly with the blend door arm. From what I understood this happens sometimes when putting everything back together.

That would be the mode control servo.
