I’m working in the garage, watching it rain with the sun out, depending on which door you look out. Hope you’re doing well Ms Susan

Good Sunday afternoon to all. Raining here off/on all day. Back from Church, and back to the job search endeavor. Getting a bit scary lately, with biggies like Intel and Dell laying off US employees in the 10,000++ range. Darn job market has been tight as hell already. This is going to make it even tougher.

Best of luck to you, Tom. I hope you find something soon.

It’s been raining hard all day here. So far about 3 1/2” in the rain gauge. Phone won’t stop beeping over the flash flood warnings.

When I stand and walk around, I feel like crap.
When I sit, I feel OK but I cough a lung out.

I need someone to rub my chest and sing 'soft kitty'.

If you’re gonna use a Thule/Yakima bar to haul something on your roof please make sure you know how to install the freaking thing!!!

because then you risk your canoe sailing off in 70 mph traffic and nearly killing someone.

Saw that once on I 75, looked like it was a nice canoe, at one time. Nobody got hurt, it was half way up the embankment

Someone gave me a Yakima rack for my truck. My plan was to do just that...haul a canoe. After looking at the structure and design of the rack and mounting brackets , I gave it away.

Finally got around to doing some troubleshooting today. I have a '92 Suzuki Bandit 400 that hasn't run in almost 2 years. Out of the blue, just quit starting. My first thought was: I hope it's not the igniter box ('92 Suzuki equivalent to an ECU) as they are no longer available from Suzuki. I checked both coils, OK. I have 12v to both coils. I have good grounds. I show timing pulses to the igniter. I have 12v to the igniter and a good ground there. Damn, that's it...off to fleabay. Found a new OEM box...$1k. That may be what the bike is worth. More looking shows 2 places in the UK that build aftermarket replacements...$330 and $570. Better, but still not convinced I want to spend that kind of money, no matter how fun this bike is to ride. Texted a friend, who also has a baby Bandit. He pointed me to a fleabay seller from China, Chineseum repop for $40, said he was thinking of buying one to have on the shelf in case. The part number they list as compatible doesn't cross reference with anything I can find...though it may be a Japanese or Euro market compatible number. I guess $40 isn't too big of a gamble :fingerscrossed:, worse comes to worse, I drop $330 on the British repop. The $570 unit is re-programmable, which I don't need. Should have it in 9-14 days. Would be nice to hear it run again...

i always see the sotrage boxes with the lids flapping in the wind or ski brackets open and flopping around with no skis in the rack
canoe and two morons in the ditch trying to sort out their shit.
    upload_2024-8-18_16-20-31.png
i had Thule bars for my RTT when I had the Runner but they were attached to the stock roof rack side bars. if theyre installed properly and not overlaoded they work fine
this took the bars and brackets clean off of the car along with the canoe. traffic was pretty heavy today too, its a wonder they didnt hit anyone.
