Sounds like you got unlucky. I ordered a couple new lower ball joints recently for 125 each and had no problem with Ourisman.

How much of a pain is it to get back there? I need to change some dash lights soon…

It's not bad. Once you do it it like twice I was able to rip it apart in like 20 mins.

First time took me about 2hrs, second time maybe 45min start to finish? Just need to remove the radio bezel, trim plate under the steering wheel, steering column trim, and cluster bezel.

I used 194 LEDs for the back and a pile of 74 LEDs for the warning lights/turn signals. The brights are a different bulb I left the old one in.

The back seat floor section? It’s just sheet metal bolted to the floor, you will probably get better response from your subs without it. But yeah it’s not very flat underneath so you’ll need to deal with that.

I assumed he was talking about the front seat ridge. The one that runs between the 2 front seat mounting points. I could be wrong though. :notsure:

Kind of a one way door if you cut that out, I guess if you never plan on putting a passenger seat in again…

No he was right, I wouldn't cut into the transmission tunnel, but I might bring it out that passage between the two front seats. Could kill several birds with one stone that way: long vents, less rattle, better cup holders ;)

Check out @nzbrock build thread. He built a subwoofer into his center consoler really nicely.

Give the air volume of our cans I'd just get one of these probably these days and run it. Even the 6" sub would sound great. If you're into shaking the truck then go for a bigger one. But the 8" should be great all around.

I worry about the tiny enclosure volumes. I've had dual 12s and a single 15, both custom designs that performed very well due to their volumes but the 15 took literally the whole back area. I need my subsonics, lol. The 12s were a flat design that faced downward but took seat travel. I never have anyone small enough to be in the back, so starting to make the most sense to convert it to something with a large volume, can double as storage, doesn't interfere with seat slides, and allows me to throw things back there. The existing "passenger seat box" is near useless

Got the rod ends replaced. Wasn't too bad at all. ADS sells ($45) a nice fixture tool that makes it easy. And $56 per rod end.

    upload_2024-8-17_19-10-24.png

New rod end only uses one clip; the other side has a shoulder that the spherical bearing sits against.

    Thanks!

He totally made it out to be impossible. (Which it IS Monte, now sell me your impossible-to-fix Kings for $100. )

This was so much easier than almost anything else I've done with the shocks, hahaha. I was relieved though, when the end just screwed off after heating. Plus, this fixture thing is nice for rebuilding shocks too, as it does the shock body too... which means I can get rid of the wooden ones I made.

Also dope ADS's tool is so cheap. That's awesme.

Hole in the exhaust so i straight piped it... super loud, kind of regretting it, anyone know of a cheap silencer I can put on the end of the straight pipe instead of replacing w/ a new exhaust? Cut it off 3ft past the back o2 sensor

The $30 thrush turbo muffler they sell it like every O'Reilly's will quiet it down and still sound decent without a tailpipe if you don't want to put one on

geting pipe run back out the rear will help a lot too. The resonance between the ground and cab makes it really loud in the cab.
