Had a fun weekend swapping out the rear 3rd member and front clamshell for ECGS 5.29 with an Eaton E-locker in the front. Everything is working perfectly and the truck feels great!

Now I’m 200 miles into the break in period. I have some excursions planned for next weekend and that should get me to 500 mi for the first gear oil change.

The 5.29s with the skinny 35s are a perfect match for this truck. 1,950-2100 RPM at 65-70 MPH in 6th gear and it doesn't immediately downshift if you give it a little throttle input.
I still need to wire up the front locker and test that out and make sure it is working.

This is the same weekend that @El Taco Diablo and the High Sierra Krawlers are running Niagara Rim.

Everyone must be out having a good time instead of posting, the group got quiet enough that I'm all caught up.

Josh, I was planning on Niagara Rim Trail, now I have to figure out "What will Todd do?"

Mark, if your truck is out for NRT, are you taking Ann's Subi to LL for Adam's birthday?

Went to Signal Peak yesterday for first time. Fun trail killer views at the top.

Anyone done the Bear Valley Trail in Tahoe National Forest? (Not to be confused with Corral Hollow Trail near Bear Valley or Bear Valley Trail in SoCal.) Hadn't heard of it until a couple days ago and was considering adding it to my to-do list for the next time I'm up near Truckee.

Signal’s a nice spot. We ran across a family who’s loved one had worked at the lookout back in the day. There’s not much there and I’d guess life was difficult at best. Especially during winter. I’m guessing their route to the shack was on the 80 side of the hill?

Here a member of the family is spreading his ashes.

Yeah, that's what I figured. It had the usual contextless "challenging trail" description on AllTrails, but I feel like the people writing the descriptions over there would say that a fire road is a "challenging trail" if it hadn't been graded recently. Regardless, I'll have to check it out at some point, just because I'm up there a couple times per year anyway.

I suppose it’s relative to the reader and vehicle.

I got 4runner today with basic mods, UCAs, body mount relocation, eibachs and 35s.

It’ll be nice to have two cars so I can finish the Tacoma after Hammers.

North of Truckee off of 89 I did most of it over Memorial Day weekend. There are a couple optional spicy lines and some tight overgrown sections but nothing I had trouble with in the trail limo on 32s. Never needed the rear locker.

Drove into Rubicon a short ways from Loon then drove back out. Then drove in through Wentworth Springs a short ways and then back out. So beautiful up there
