If it were further into the waiting period I wouldn’t have an issue with it but would expect a discount on the price accordingly. Pretty common WA process, I haven’t bought or sold one on bond but almost went through the process with the CT90 before I went the vermont route ( RIP Vermont loophole). Part of it is a WSP VIN inspection and sending certified letters to previous owners, so it’s not like it’s an easy process to fake ownership through.

omfg, please... DONT stop posting pics of that glorious riding and chocolate cake like that. Makes me wanna get off my ass and get out on my dirtbike!

uhh grabbing a wheelie in any gear is a problem!?!? What dont you like about the bike outside of the ludicrous statement of too much power LOL.

I literally wont touch a bike/vehicle/trailer/vessel here in CA if it DOESNT have a title... the CA dmv is SOOOOOOO much of a hassle if you dont have that.

personally, I wouldn't either, just because of the hassle, and I like having all my paperwork in order. But lots of guys don't really care all that much it seems for track/dirt stuff, and even some street stuff.

Then again we do have a lot of people in CA riding dirty as well, but I know a few guys personally who do it above board. just extra steps...sometimes a lot of extra steps lol.

I'm still waiting for the DMV to send me the R6 title...after needing to file a replacement title because it got lost in the mail, and that alone is stressing me out. even though i know ownership has been transferred and registration is current lol.

Pegs are high, so my knee is at an awful angle and peg drop kits are only 15mm or so, so it's not super comfortable to tour on, and it sucks as a commuter which is most of my riding, it is really twitchy throttle response under 35. I wrote one for my F800GS too and I just felt such a bigger attachment and usefulness out of keeping that one instead, yknow. I have one cross state trip in a couple weeks that'll be my last shit or get off the pot moment for the S1000XR.

I got a screaming deal on it, so I was kind of expecting to treat it like a rental anyway. My breakeven is $7500 and most I'm seeing are listed between 9500-10500.

So I just received a release of interest form from my insurance company. So signing the bike over to them. Only problem I have is they have not given me a payout amount yet. They have declared it’s a total. I feel if I sign it over I am stuck with what ever they offer me. Is that right and should I wait to send it back until I get a payout amount? I have never had a claim like this before so I don’t know. I did send my adjuster a note about it but I don’t really trust them.

I'm no insurance agent but I believe you are correct. I have asked my friend who used to be an adjuster to confirm.

Yes, I have, on a couple things. It's not a problem at all. My Ducati had a lost Oregon title and I bought it after talking to the previous owner that still had it under their name that he would go get it for me and mail it. He didnt. I had to go through the WSP, show proof of purchase, yadayadayada. Someone has already done that, it's just waiting. There's no risk if you have the proof of sales trail from whomever it is currently listed as owner. Price should be significantly lower tho. I basically stole my bike by how little i paid, but I did pay with time eventually

In Washington, that's how it works. Just sign the release and you'll still get to haggle. I just went through this last year with my GFs car, she was concerned too and spoke with a lawyer that said it's standard practice and doesn't play into negotiations

@oldtoyman my friend got back to me, said same as wyckedan that it's standard practice. and depending on where the bike is being kept, delaying could lower your payout if it incurs storage or other fees.

I was trying to get him lower by about 1200 from his asking price. I may just move on with it. There will be plenty other bike forsale.

The other thing to consider, especially with gsxr owners, is how did the dude treat the bike if he couldn't even keep track of the title. I don't understand how there's so many missing title "not stolen" for sale ads when you can literally go to a quick title place and have them print you a new one out for like $100. I could not find the title to a bike when I sold it and had to do that. When I moved and was packing my things up, of course I found it though

So talked to my insurance adjuster and he said he sent the paperwork to have it ready as soon as they have a value. So it sounds like I get a payout offer first. At least that’s what he said.

Right there with you. I have the paperwork and copies (digital) of EVERY pinkslip / registration / bill of sale of every vehicle I have ever had. Its not hard and makes things SOOOO easy. Best part its literally no work to do so.

I guess some people are just scatter brained and or dgaf about something like that and go oopsie, i threw out the document that shows I own this.

Well I am going to pass on the cbr. Come to find out the orig owner lost the title and sold the bike in Nov 2023 to the second owner who had it for a couple months ( probably to flip it) and sold it to the guy who has it now and now he is trying to sell. Bike only has 2400 miles and for a 2008 that is way too low really. Bike has been sitting A LOT!!! And passed around way too quick. All huge red flags plus the title status.
The search continues,, and the insurance adjuster said they should have a value this week. We will see. I have at least 7 ads for 750s that are above or close to what I paid.
