    Hey all,

I have a 2020 trd off road and recently the carplay audio cuts out when I get a notification on my phone. When this happens, I have to unplug the phone from my charger and plug it back in to get the audio working, only to go out once the next notification comes through.

Has this happened to anyone else and if so, did you find a way to fix it?

    Thanks,
    Elliott

I could never get my factory system to work even that well.. but the first thing I would do is reboot your phone/check for updates and then check for updates on your headunit: Home | Toyota Software

I would check that your cable is good and not damaged. I have an Android and this was a problem with Android Auto doing the same thing to me. I'd have music dropouts and sometimes Android Auto would disconnect from my Phone. Problem was a cheap USB-C cable. replaced with a Quality Anker Cable and problem went away.

Across multiple vehicles and phones, my CarPlay issues have always eventually been traced back to a defective cable.

Apple devices are also incredibly sensitive to the type of cable. Always use an original cable or a MFi certified cable or CarPlay will give you fits.

THis is so true. we have lots of apple stuff at work and when users I have to support loose their cables and just get a cheap one at 5below, big lots, Ollies or some random gas station its always barely good enough to charge the device and not trustworthy with data.
