I haven't driven too much lately, mainly surface streets, no change in speed, I tested that in a speed check Street at low speeds 45 mph zone

Not sure, but maybe insignificant power loss going up inclines, almost negligible, I think I noticed having to accelerate slightly more going up an incline

I think my installer screwed up, told them tires are directional on side “rolls forward” drivers side (above) looks correct, passenger is reversed. Geez

Just got these in a 285/70/r17E installed, they ride so smooth and quiet compared to my previous tires (patagonia milestar M/Ts with super bad heel/toe wear.) Big O Tires is offering TWO $60 rebates on them right now!

I believe the tire is multi directional meaning that’s how it’s suppose to be

The 70 and 75 is what is referred to as the aspect ratio. The 265 or 285 is the section width in millimeters (width of the sidewall to sidewall, not tread width) The 70 & 75 is a percentage of the section width indicating the height of the sidewall. Example: 265mm x .75=198.75mm is the sidewall height. So, tire overall diameter would be (198.75 x 2=397.5mm) (397.5mm divide by 25.4)(to convert mm to inch) =15.65 + rim diameter of 16"=31.65"for calculated tire diameter. However, with every brand there will variables and tire diameter may not actually be that 31.65. Then tire height/diameter on vehicle with the weight of vehicle on tire will be smaller.

Now that it’s been almost a month, how are they working for you? Any experience with wet traction? Also curious about if you can feel the weight with them being 55 lbs (stats were updated). I’m tempted to wait for the stock size to become available next February.

Can anyone confirm the weight of these in 265/75/16? Bfgoodrich website says 55lbs while DT says 50lbs. Also I currently have toyo at3s SL in the same size. Will I notice a significant change in power, mpg ect. with the weight difference of the tires? Thanks in advance for any information!

I’m also wanting to know the same with the weight. I’m going to guess 55 is accurate, since it’s from BFG and not DT. I also say that because the KO2 was something like 53-54 lbs and so that seems more likely to point to 55 for KO3 than 50. The 265/70R17 KO2 to KO3 went from 53 lbs to 55 lbs.

2 years ago my truck came with 53 lb KO2s in 265/70R17. I went down to 265/65R17 Toyos in XL and shaved 14 lbs per. I noticed a small increase in performance, but it wasn’t that drastic. Not as drastic as I thought it would be anyways.

From looking at my mpg spreadsheet, my mpg didn’t change measurably, but I drive with a lead foot and am constantly in the high rpm’s, so there’s no telling how the mpg could have been had I applied myself. I think it may hurt some in town but on the highway not so much.

Just heads up, getting a very slight rub at full turn on the front mudflaps on TRD off-road 3rd Gen with 265/75/16 and 0 offset wheels (no lift). Was surprised to find out, but not a big deal

Pretty typical for 0 offset, especially if your wheel is 8-8.5” or more in width. Even the 7” wide +4mm offset TRD Sema wheels will hit the stock mud flaps on 32” tires.

How do you like the tires? Maybe too soon to tell, but are they smooth and do you notice the weight?

I've only had them for two days, so a bit too soon to tell. Butt dyno detected a little bit of a weight increase, but also could be me overthinking. Def not a huge deal.
Highway/city driving was nice and smooth. I have a roof rack that's already pretty noisy, so whatever road noise they added is negligible. Excited to take them on some trails later this month!

I dunno if my P rated AT3w are gonna hold out long enough to get some LT255/75R17 C... Since they don't come out until next year... But I'm optimistic that this will be a good size and weight for the Tacoma now that the AT4w is so heavy relative to the AT3w and other models...

Also looking for updates on road noise and wet road tracking. Is it more, less, same as KO2?
    Regrets?
