I don’t like it on a motorcycle. I have been riding so many years without it. Just not for me.

man. You guys are making me nervous. Been running the x mount for a decade. Despite zero fails on the bike, even through an accident, I went quadlock when it came out. Added the dampener when it came out, just because. Never lost a phone and never had a camera go bad. Just turned in my four year old iPhone 11. Camera was still fine, although water had taken a toll. I run a ball mount directly into the stem. Not the fancy mount quadlock suggests. No parts to fail.

I still run the x mount in my truck. 2 phones, one quad one x. With the x mount as the rubber knobs age it’s easy to mis install the phone and it will fall. I always ran the rubber band retainer with the x when on the bike. And again, never an issue. Maybe just not enough miles??

    IMG_0324.jpg

edit to add: looked it up it's called the "x-mount tether"

Actually it’s only vehicles that I have this problem with.

so im late to the whole phone mount thing but i will add the quadlock will survive a crash very well and hold your phone lol. its what i use to use on the klx all the time and bouncing offroad or crashing the phone never came off once! now i did add the vibration damper on it and the phone did seem to shake more but i had an old iphone 8 plus so i didnt really care if it broke or not lol. atm for the bolt i just have some random bar clamp mount that was on the bike when i got it and dont use it much unless i use the gps other then that my phone sits in my pocket these days since the bolt vibrates a lot and i like my new phone a lot lol.

Getting excited for the 3 day class this weekend to get our moto permits. Sadly, it looks like we'll be out on the course enjoying typical Western Washington weather Saturday morning. Hoping Sunday will be a little better for the actual testing.

I'm positive somewhere in the brush, my phone is still attached to the mount lol. aside from the fork stem mount failure, it was a great product. Held up for about 2 years of constant commuting and canyon riding with no issues. just over 26k miles?

Was 90 when my wife took the kickstart class a couple weeks ago. She was dying. Said the modular helmet was a lifesaver being able to open it up easily while waiting between exercises on the bike.

I'm stressing a bit that I'll pass the practical and she won't, but watch, I'll prolly do something dumb and she'll be the one that passes and not me!

You are correct! It’s so hard though. Before the GSXR I was in bike search mode and since the fire I haven’t been able to get out of it. Sometimes being retired and having all this time is a problem! lol
I do agree to calm down and enjoy what I have for now. I think I am going to take out the Klx for a ride today.

oh i thought i told you i found this new phone and phone mount awhile back didnt i? was pretty nice tbh! couldnt unlock the thing thou!

ya best to slow down and go look at bikes and either sit/ test drive them... if you rush into things you will wind up disliking it and selling it and either breaking even or taking a loss so take a breather and look casually.
