familiar, been a master engine tech for ford for 30+ years...
Been directly first hand involved in plenty of ford litigation cases & actual court cases where ive been in-front of the judge...:duel:
Where ford owners tried suing ford for various reasons & I happen to be the technician that worked on the car.
We call them field service engineers, same thing...
They come out & help with advising us how to fix the difficult head scratcher issues, help with out of the ordinary warranty issues & decisions, etc...

Guess its a good thing, just need to get all my ducks in a row...

Your truck most likely was a fluke dude, something went wrong with the paint process. Allowing that much dirt into the paint. Prob a bad batch of trucks hopefully they repaint it for you

    So latest shit show.
Fst came-out & verified my concern.
Suggested wetsanding various panels & go from there.
Even though it’s documented by my dealers body shop that multiple panels will blow through if wet sanded.
Without calling him any names, he also stated that the roof did not need to be addressed because it’s a high access point and is not seen…
I made my representative aware today once again that I’m not going to let anyone color, sand, or repaint ever…
They already color sanded my driver side rear door before I realized the crap is all over the car and you can see two football size areas in that door where they color sanded. I would’ve been better off leaving it alone….
So, as of tomorrow, my file goes to Toyota’s legal team…

Just did a full detail on my Ice Cap today. No issues here. Hope they are just a few random ones around.

Man... 3 months in and no resolution. It really sucks that cosmetic defects are not covered to the same level as mechanical. The whole "chip, paint, fade" seems more subjective... as opposed to something as straight forward as "check engine light" or "not working xyz".

    Sending good thoughts.

I walked around my '24 very, very slowly when taking delivery.
I appreciate this thread and know that your unwilling sacrifice is helping other Tacoma buyers.

Are you able to capture any photo where one could "see two football size areas in that door where they color sanded." not sure what that would look like. Thanks and good luck.

    Well, there you go.
After you've completed the process, would you mind posting the VIN in case this bad apple turns up somewhere else?

I keep asking myself that due to the previous white peeling issues even though were hopeful that its been resolved by now...
my paint defects were an isolated shitshow.
if there was a metalic grey ide be all over it...
but I really do like the white...
Were not made of money, yeah it would be cool to have a white one, UG one, bronze oxide one, silver one.....
Im actually not a fan of the UG, too dark...

this isn’t a white issue. This was an isolated sandstorm in the dessert. Oops meant, the paint booth…
I’ve seen plenty of flawlessly painted white 24 tacomas..

Not sure how much traction this is gonna get here, but didn’t feel like making another thread…
My SR5, has cold-weather package, heated seats, trailer, tow, nicer tube style runningboards,Jbl system,
    Credit card size, key, etc.
Looking at lower in SR fives, it just has a felt liner under the backseat versus I have a hard plastic liner.
my question is what package determines you get a hard liner versus the cheesy felt liner? I’ll post some pictures when I get home and I have a real Internet connection, my phone and the website aren’t playing nice…

Looks like the rear underseat storage (if that is what you are referring to) requires the Cold Weather package on top of the SR5 Upgrade package to get that:

SR5 Upgrade + Cold Weather Package (Double Cab) — includes heated front seats, leather-trimmed heated steering wheel, leather-trimmed shift knob, JBL® * Premium Audio with JBL® * FLEX portable speaker, HomeLink® * universal transceiver, Qi-compatible wireless charging, * automatic climate control, Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking (PA w/AB), * rear underseat storage compartment, LED bed lights, easy lower tailgate, Integrated Trailer Brake Controller (ITBC) *, Digital Key * capability, and power horizontal rear window

Congrats on getting Toyota to do the right thing for you as well!

    That’s great news!

How that paint job passed QC at the Mexico assembly plant is beyond me. That paint job was atrocious.

I would never approve a new paint job to correct the issues. It’s not baked on like factory applied OEM paint. Respray’s are not baked on to the same high temperatures as it would ruin the weatherstripping, interior, etc.

Using painters tape was a great idea. I have used a black China marker to point out panel misalignment on my vehicles in the past. It works great and it’s easily removable by the service department.

Lexus/Toyota’s built in Japan vehicles go through has a vigorous QC checks before leaving the assembly plants. Note how workers feel for imperfections using gloved hands.

    that’s good info, thank you.
That’s exactly how my vehicle was equipped…
I was hoping to itch the heated seats, heated steering wheel, JBL, ultimately it’s not a bad package…

Maybe if you can get the part number and availability of the plastic liner and price, it would make your decision easier?

That liner is $750. I priced one when Bobsworld was contemplating cutting his up during his system build...
Those A pillar plastics with the nice factory looking tweeter grills, $300....
Do I need or want heated seats, no...
Might make more sense to get it, than not...
I reached out to my sales guy, see what they have coming-in, he's going to get back to me today with allocated vehicles in white...
They have a really nice TRD offroad in white that im sure they will sell me for what I paid for my sr5...

I want it but really cant see myself pulling the trigger...
Have no interest or need for the 4x4, other than looks...
added cost of maint, added cost insurance, added failure points, etc...
Like the contrast though between the white paint & black fender flares...
