got a question for everyone in here!

throttle locks for your bike? id be interested in some sort of cruise device for the bolt so i can let my hand rest for a short bit and not loose the speed im going. what have you ran and what will you not run? im interested in hearing your thoughts!

Rant time: don’t be a fucking squid.

Went to safeway to buy groceries this morning and a kid walks down the aisle wearing gloves and a helmet, black pants and tshirt, whole get up that you know he thought he looked like a badass when in reality her looked like a bobble head. Annoyance 1: just take off your helmet if you’re stopping anywhere longer than getting gas. It takes two seconds to put on.

Whatever, so i go outside back to my car and he’s parked three feet from the entrance on the sidewalk. Annoyance 2: I hate when people do that, unless it’s out of the public right of way or at a bike rack or something, park in a normal spot or in the triangle at the end of the rows.

I’m loading up my car and the kid starts up his bike and it sounds like a fucking fart cannon after a night of light beer and taco bell. Short little SC Project exhaust on some little 250 or 300. Annoyance 3: louder exhausts don’t always sound better, and you should probably leave the baffle in.

Leaving the parking lot now and the kid is behind me, swerving side to side on my bumper and then at the only light pulls up in line with my rear on the side. like, the fuck, there’s six cars ahead of me how the fuck do you expect me to go faster asshole. Annoyance 4: recognize when traffic is traffic and when tailgating isn’t going to do shit. Also realize most cars can stop faster than you and if you really want to be tailgating.

Get to the light, am turning, and see this tiny little blinker hyper flashing in my mirror. Annoyance 5: if you’re going to replace turn signals PLEASE make sure they’re more visible than stock and please wire them appropriately, resistors or a new relay. Nothing makes you seem like a cheap shit faster than hyper flashing blinkers IMHO.

Finally, I’m turning onto my street, 25 mph road, dude tries to rev bomb me as he goes past. Annoyance 6: don’t rev bomb, especially when you’re riding a 250 or 300, you look like a tool and an idiot.

OK, daughter and I are going to take a nap now, apparently we’re both cranky and need it :)

I have a Kaoko on my f800gs that is very easy to use and unobtrusive. Not sure if they make one for the bolt or not. They’re pricier than the claw options but I’d recommend it.

I use a $50 walmart knockoff of the Atlas throttle lock. It's good for a little bit of rest, but it doesn't always consistently hold the speed. vibes of the bike usually shake it loose slowly. Can't say I would recommend it for a real cruise device. Sometimes it'll hold for a while, sometimes it immediately starts decelerating, albeit much less than just closing the throttle.
sounds like a young/new rider lol.

I never understood the parking next to entrances. Granted I do it at work, but that's so i can keep an eye on my bike and prevent all the nearby yoga mom's hitting it, and I make sure it's out of everyone's way.

Personally I prefer hyperflash. Find it to be more attention grabbing, and certainly more so than stock. cheap shit confirmed :D

just a couple of things tbh
all i wear is a helmet gloves and leather boots... i do have jeans and a hoodie but sometimes im just wearing a t shirt its just to hot some days! tbh i see no issue just wearing a helmet inside a store.. i do it all the time since i dont feel like always taking it off and im normally listing to music and just running in to grab something or look at hotwheels...

i always park towards the store entrance now im not in the way of others ill be off to the side so people can easily walk around and not run into or trip on the bike. ive had it happen to many times with the super moto where some one about smashed the bike because they didnt know it was there so if im by my self and i can i park all the way near the store... never done a bike rack thou! that sounds funny af!

loud exhaust is fun and i had loud exhaust on my klx400 but it had the baffle i dislike it when bikes dont have a baffle in them they just sound bad lol

i do swerve a lot when riding... i go back and forth when bored because well its fun to me and the gf to sway back and forth in our lane for a few mins just not at highway speeds she wont let me lol

also have no issue with hyper flash on a bike... i had tucked turn signals on my klx but they were bright af! and the hyper flash got peoples attention so i left it alone

the rest eh just sounds like a kid tbh ive rev bombed a few people for being dumb but not because they are stuck in traffic lol

ill have to take a look! since thats all im wanting is a few seconds or mins of rest to stretch my hand for a second. the vibes on the bolt im sure would cause it not to hold constantly as well lol

I did this once when I had a notary appointment at UCSD. nearest public parking lot was probably a half mile away, saw a bike rack right next to the campus restaurant I was meeting the client at and figured that would do for 30-45 minutes. Got some weird looks from the students lol

Definitely new and young. And I can see your point on hyperflash.. I do have one of my bikes with an adjustable relay set slightly faster than normal hz, but not hyperflash fast. If it's out of the way, whatever, but this was three feet from the entrance in the middle of the sidewalk. As someone that has to push a stroller a lot more these days I'm weirdly protective of sidewalk space now haha

At my local dealership right now. Rode down on the Klx. They have a 2024 zx6r here and I sat on it. Holy crap my back would hate me. Seemed more aggressive than the GSXR 750. Then I sat on the gsx-8r and that thing is damn comfortable.Should be able to find one used next year for a decent price. Love love the Klx.

    lmao no such luck unfortunately.

Yeah that's not cool. needs to be at least enough space left to push a wheelchair through comfortably/easily.

Back when I got my motorcycle license, you only had to take a written test. This was in 1993 when I was 14.
