    I'd re-think using the same seals/gaskets/O-rings.

Even if they weren't leaking before their bound to now, the seal was compromised when you took it apart, even if not torn but if you look close at any O-ring, its no longer round, it'll be flat or warped (ovaled ) & that was the sealing surface, just sayin' if theres one there spend a couple more bucks & be confident in your install, its a bitch when you take what seems like a plausible short cut just to have to do it again...just my $.02;)

I think (and anyone else feel free to chime in) most people report hearing noise. I was right at 75k and started hearing a droning noise coming from the front so I assumed, from all that I had read it was the wheel bearings. Turns out it was the tire. One wheel bearing had some rust but it wasn't as bad as the pics in the provided links. I'm going to let these go till they are grinding!

Good point (as always). I replaced mine since I had it all apart for the exact reason you state.

    WHAAAAA?

So I tackled the drivers front bearing today, but the noise is still there. I will do the passengers side next week, but the noise don't make since to me....going straight on the highway I hear it....as I start to turn to the left the noise goes away, until I straighten up again....I would think the opposite. If the passenger bearing is bad, then wouldn't the noise get louder? Any suggestions?

Maybe they were both pooched? Just one worse then the other?

When I'm on the highway, the noise goes away when I turn right... so I'm assuming its the right wheel bearing.

You got your bearing assebley off ebay right? Did you pick-up a hub somewhere and have it pressed before hand? Or did you just take yours off and bring it to a shop?

Ya I got 2 of the bearing assemblies off eBay. I just took the hub and bearing off the truck and had a shop take the old one off and press on the new one. They charged me 40 bucks. I'll do the other side next week.

Gotcha. I bought the used hub off of Diablo and had a bearing assembly pressed on today. Will hopefully tackle it this weekend. Would nice to have it done before the opening of turkey season (monday).

Did you buy the two seals and one o-ring from Toyota? I did... almost $70! What a scam...

I am planning on changing both front bearings so I bought 2 outer seals and 2 inner seals from partsource (total price 67$). I had the truck all apart in the garage when I went to Toyota for the o ring but they had none in stock so I re used the old one. It looked fine. It's a good thing I bought the inner rings cause the one I removed so far was worn so bad, the little wire coil/spring that is wrapped around the rubber part was completely worn through on about 1/4 of the seal. I'll tackle the pass side next week. Oh, the shop charged me 40 bucks to remove the old bearing from the hub and press on the new one..he said the bearings were rusty..

Interesting! I initially only priced the outer seal at Part Source and it was the same price as Toyota. They also didnt have it in stock, so I went to Toyota to buy it. Toyota mentioned I should get the inner seal and O-ring.... the inner seal at Toyota was about $35!! I'll go back to Part Source and see what their price is for the inner...
