Lemon law is cut and dry is most states. Most states are 30 days plus without the vehicle or 3 repair attempts for the same issue while the vehicle is under 2 years and 24k miles. Vehicle must have been purchased new.

hopefully your not joining that thread i posted anytime soon.
as for lemon law i always thought vehicle could not be down for 30 or more days "being repaired" meaning waiting for parts does not count. or different concerns. and it had to be in the first year of age for vehicle.

So far so good for me. The lifetime powertrain warranty was a huge comfort level in me switching to GM. My 2000 Tahoe was rock solid so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I've never been a fan of extended warranties, but I keep all my cars 10+ years so I wouldn't buy a new vehicle today without one.

Well I had qualified for a buy back under "lemon law" atleast thats how it was written-up...
& didnt have either & toyota approved my buyback.
When all said & done, I am going to ask my case worker, on what grounds was the approval made / no back & forth drama, etc...
was it the 2 ac concerns?
was it the grossly poor paint which technically paint isnt a lemon law item?
or was it, you guys know my background & dont care for any unwanted publicity at this point...

Yup, I posted it in my paint thread.
They agreed to facilitate a buyback on the grounds of just my 2 ac repair orders & paint.......
Have no idea which one caused the buyback, my bulldog attitude, the paint, or ac?
They approved buy back, signed docs yesterday.
Getting every dime back, also they re-imbursed me for my tint & screen protect film.
Getting the same thing, just a white 2wd sr5, just one that wasnt painted in the desert in the middle of a wind-storm...
Ide like an offroad & theres deals to be had right now, but just wont use the 4wd at all...
just another added expense, maint, repair costs, weight, more problems, insurance costs, etc...
White offroads with the black fender flares look sweet though!!!!

I am teetering in waiting this out. I appreciate the honesty from the service dept. (as much as the service dude can predict) but making payments on a new 2024 transmission problem tacoma is making me nervous. And not having the vehicle is killing me. I reaaaaalllly like the vehicle What happens at 80,000 miles. I appreciate all ur responses. Thank u.
We haven’t asked the dealership for anything right now. I am still driving their Hyundai Tucson. Nice car but winter in Wisconsin is approaching, and I drive 45 minutes each way.

I don’t understand. You should be getting every cent you paid for the truck. So say it was 80k post tax, and you owe 20k on a loan it should be 60k back to you.

what exactly are they subtracting 5k for ?

We are meeting with the dealership Friday or Saturday. I showed my husband your posts, and since we are in a similar situation, would you be willing to share your requests for compensation? Thank you in advance for your response.

As with any first gen anything the beta testers get to suffer. It’s better than having to wait for tundra engines. Toyota has their supply chain lines tight for sure. They are giving people equivalent loaners I assume, right?

    This!!!!
He obviously not going through proper channels.
You don’t even need a lemon law attorney, which in fact is paid by the manufacturer.
His file and lemon law claim/arbitration directly with Toyota.
I just went through it so very familiar with the process

If you guys want out, basically you call Toyota customer service, start a lemon law arbitration process, it takes about 45 days to 60 days to get a decision. Don’t need attorneys, don’t need to make a big deal of it just start the process, going through the proper channels.
You can back out at anytime or change your mind if you choose to.
They make a decision in your favor or not, if they decide they’re gonna buy it back. You sign the docs and then within 20 days another company set up the transaction to return the vehicle most likely at the dealer I’m assuming.
Pm me , if you want to further discuss

They are not usually a rental car or Camry or some bs. Beta testing as in a loose piece here or rattle there or software fix but a failed transmission and then saying hey gonna be at least 30 days out, people need to stop making excuses for Toyota. I was a third gen beta tester I was out my truck for a new diff for a week and was given a tundra loaner and a platinum warranty. There is zero excuse to treat / have customers waiting 30 days for a product you sold them that failed them while you continue to use parts to sell new trucks. That’s not a supply chain issue that’s just greed and giving zero craps about your customers.

This may mean I am dumb! I didn’t do any research on the purchase of our 2024 tacoma. I have always had great Toyotas. I just assumed. I was told six months. I get they probably are being safe with the six months. Ugh!!

It sounds like Toyota is offering him a deal that works better for them. Many car manufacturers will do this unless Lemon Law is fully pushed on them.

If Toyota offers a deal outside a True Lemon law claim, they vehicle also won't be branded as a lemon. Toyota assumes most people will just be pushovers and take the deal.
