I may be wrong in thinking but with closed long bypass tubes there really isn't a bump zone in the shock.

Guess I missed the completely closed off part. Time to tighten things up even more so you can get them tubes opened up.

This is the wayyyy. I’ll never live in town again. So much more relaxing in the country. 15 minute commute to work with no traffic. I have my own trail system to wheel on. No nosey neighbors. You’d shit yourself if you knew how low the cost of living is where I am compared to over there, too lol

oh I know we use to have a 4 bed 3.5 bath 2600SQft on 7 acres just east of San Diego, nearest neighbor was 1/4 mile away, with a rv garage and lift inside. Wife hated the daily drive to the city.
    Happy wife happy life!

Flutters on both sides works like that in theory but not so much in practice. With it setup like that, every bump you hit thats enough to move the shim before the flutter but not the one after the flutter will cause close enough to the same reaction as the suspension comes back the other way to catch the opposite side of the frequency that the suspension makes (unless you have massively different valving on each side). It ends up creating sorta like a gap in your damping at that shaft speed and it'll make your truck do the porpoising thing for a little until the shaft speed increases and opens the next shim or slows enough that the flutter doesn't open.

The idea behind doing it on the compression side typically is that small/medium rocks and chatter are that slow/medium shaft speed that opens up the flutter and allows a little more shaft speed on the way up. Then your rebound has to do a lil more of the damping to catch that increase in shaft speed on the way back down, which it can because it's still valved progressively all the way through the shim stack. The shock still does nearly the same amount of damping but with less resistance on the upward movement in that small range

In crayon in case anyone is still lost lol: Flutter adds a lil soft spot. A lil soft spot in uptravel and down travel is one big soft spot

Accurate. But want to add that changing the flutter diameter will increase/decrease the soft spot. Small diameter=bigger soft spot, larger diameter = smaller. I’m personally double fluttered. But found that anything over .008 seems to be too much. And that larger diameter flutters are better.

I said the same thing when I started my first cut lmao.

ON the Shock tower..check the Rebound Bypass Adjuster clearances at the top of the Shock Tower (Bottom Side). Full droop will trick you into thinking there's enough clearence, but will touch at full bump.

Another Tip: Install the Square Plates that goes on top of the Towers and to the bed before torqueing the Towers down, that will help with proper alignment. Ian helped me with the SUA and Frame Brace install so he has 1st hand experience and knowledge if you get stuck with anything

you could have rotated the body cap instead of notching the shock mount
