@guaco.supreme curious what size tires you're running. I'd like to do a regear at some point but I'm running 265/70R17's (may go to 285 next time) and thinking maybe 4.88 is enough for those.

265/75r16 (31.6 inch) at the moment, which equates to the same size as yours. If I were to stay at this size and wasnt adding weight I would probably go 4.88.

5.29s are a little over-geared for anything under a 33 inch tire. Reason I went with 5.29 is A) 33's will be next tire size, B) I'll be at roughly 500lbs additional weight with cap, drawers, winch, etc., and B) I pull a ~2000lb camper trailer in the mountains often enough.

Thanks. I haul about 1200lbs between the quad, trailer, and gear 4 hours several times a year and haul maybe 4000 lbs of boat and trailer about the same distance a couple of times a year. I'll have to see if I go with 285's next time then make a decision.

TBH even with the 265's since you tow often enough I'd just do 5.29. I'll chime in after a few more tanks to see what mpgs do, but so far I see no negative impact.

Changed out my grill to the facelift OR grill. I like it, but I think I want to paint it black or go with an all-black Pro grill. Also installed my Rokblokz that have been sitting around and not sure if I like them yet. My bed isn’t aligned correctly and one of the bolts is seized, so I wasn’t able to get it adjusted.

Just did mine. 70k miles on stock brakes. Damn things looked like they had 70% life left!. Put the new pads and rotors on anyway. Started to flush the brake fluid. Filled 3/4 of a 16oz bottle. Fluid looked identical to new. Just stopped there and called it a day.

I took it to the dealer to get a side mirror replaced, they did their curtesy inspection. Told me my brakes were at #3. I asked what that meant and he showed me a pad that was on his desk that was pretty worn. So, I either fell for his bullshit, or, I need new brakes. My brother (who owns a repair shop) told me I may as well change them. I do have some pulsating when using the brakes on a downhill run. I will post the results.

Do you possibly know which exact lugs to buy for a steel wheel?

I have a Rough Country steelie for my spare 285/70R17 tire.

    Thanks!

This picture shows the difference ... upper for steelies because mags have flat "rims" and need the lower lugs.
